Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 5.0: Can a blind nut find a squirrel?

Still editing the bill. Plan to vote in an hour. No ones read it. The hypocrisy is off the charts.

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 5.0: Can a blind nut find a squirrel?

@SenFeinstein: UPDATE: Democrats just offered an amendment to ensure corporations use their tax savings to raise employee wages at the same rate they increase executive pay, stock buybacks and dividends to shareholders. Every single Republican voting, voted NO. #GOPTaxPlan
@SenatorDurbin: UPDATE: Senate Republicans are so desperate to pass their tax bill tonight that they're now making handwritten changes to their already handwritten changes...

Seriously. https://t.co/KQfW7bOyk1
@SenatorMenendez: Okay this is absurd. One page of the new #GOPTaxPlan is crossed out with an ex. Another page is just a line. Is that a crossout? Is this page part of the bill?
WHY AM I ASKING THESE QUESTIONS HOURS BEFORE WE VOTE ON IT?? #GOPTaxScam https://t.co/57Qbi7gT5F

If you excuse me, I need to go vomit.

Ted Cruz trying to expand 529 for K-12 education, because most lower and middle income families send their kids to private schools.

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 5.0: Can a blind nut find a squirrel?

It passes 51-49 by my count. On to committee.

Smash and grab.

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.” -- Frank Zappa

Tax Bill has 28% support. That's even less than Trump's base. 2018 better be a clean sweep.

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 5.0: Can a blind nut find a squirrel?

28% on a bill that helps maybe 1% of the population

And it all is being done under the cover of the Flynn story. My guess is the 27% that support it and don't get anything are the dumb deplorables that Democrats need to forget about.

I stayed up last night to watch the Ashes on my laptop(thanks for nothing, Willow) and flipped the tv to CSPAN around midnight. It was pretty surreal watching it unfold. I'm obviously a conservative, but there is nothing at all conservative about this bill. It's a complete disgrace to congress, the country, and americans. If this isn't a tipping point for change I'm not sure what would be. As others have pointed out, there is a lot of garbage in it beyond just the tax rate changes.

I make $14.10/hour. My taxes are gonna go up. I had thought about grad school, but if I can't deduct any of those expenses, might as well forget about it. Granted, I am applying for better jobs. But right now, I can't grin and bear it.

I think this test is the only one that conflicts 100% with an India match. However, it looks like I'll have to break down and buy the subscription. I like watching Kohli bat and Ashwin spin, but you can't beat the Ashes.

Oh, and the bill sucks. Maybe the conference can make it more palatable or gut it entirely and use the Red/Green plan.

And pigs fly.

They are going after people with any medical issues, any financial issues, and education. And they're destroying everything that gives anyone a shot. If you grow up in a rich family you're golden. Good luck otherwise.

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 5.0: Can a blind nut find a squirrel?

The good news is that unlike Obamacare these republicans got their disgusting predilections out in actual legislation, meaning they just threw the 18 and 20 elections.

I did too, and then woke up at 6:30 :(. Was hoping against hope that I could go to bed happy.

Kohli certainly looks good against a toothless attack on a featherbed. He could really cash in tomorrow. I don't think there is a bigger star in sports right now. It is crazy when India go two down and the crowd starts shrieking.

Adelaide is the only game that is completely blocked, but it was irritating at the 'gabba when they would switch over halfway through the afternoon session. We should be fine for Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney. A little tip is if you go to live.cricket.com.au you can listen to any of the radio broadcasts including TMS.

My guess is that in about 14 months we see the legislation completely undone.

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 5.0: Can a blind nut find a squirrel?

Will this finally end the BS about how someone is “socially liberal but fiscally conservative” but vote R BS? The republicans haven’t been but are now blatantly fiscally and morally reprehensible.
