Business, Economics, and Taxes: Eat Cereal for Dinner

Handy, if the f150 had a bad year, it was very devastating for Ford- it makes so very much money vs everything else, it’s not funny. It funds the development of new cars, especially new EVs.

There are a few, smaller volume, vehicles that were more profitable by unit, but they just managed their own sales bubbles.

The inventories were normal, but they do go up and down for a lot of reasons other than product demand.

To Tesla, their truck is not just odd, the fact that they let their customers do some quality development for them is really catching up to them as a company.

The point is Ford won't cease to exist if that truck has one bad year. Tesla can't afford the CT to fail. Just like SpaceX can't have the shuttle fail. They have no backup, no way to recoup losses. The only way to weather the storm is of Elmo throws money at it.

(Not to mention Ford has other revenue streams)

Big companies can afford loss leaders...small companies can't. IfvTesla was on the rise they could eat the CT and move on. But when the CT fails and worldwide sales are down 20% that is teetering on the edge of annihilation.

Big companies use loss leaders strategically. They are not an accident nor a mistake- cheap Rangers existed to sell more F150s because of fleet fuel economy requirements. Thats how profitable f150s are.

If cybers were supposed to be as profitable as f150, this current situation will kill Tesla. Breaks my heart. lol.

What will hurt t more is companies going someplace else to get co2 credits. Which shows more how Elmo is so dumb- hooking up with someone who wants to end that process.

mookie worked for a firm long ago where an analyst insisted GM wasn’t a car manufacturer, but a bank where their finance arm was the only important function and he wanted this bought for that arm only 💁🏾

I'm sure it'll lean heavily into Aladdin theming.

“We are the consumer of the world, everyone wants to sell their goods here”

I thought the whole point of these was to bring production back to the US so we had American-made goods?

He would probably say it's fine for Americans to buy foreign goods, but we want foreign markets open to us.
