Business, Economics, and Taxes: Eat Cereal for Dinner

I think the reckoning is coming. Bunch of companies that sell accessories for table top games, TCGs, and RPGs all announced massive price increases for their products (think card sleeves, dice, playmats etc.), like 50%+ increases.

Between this and the Nintendo stuff they’ve committed one of the worst mistakes: They’ve pissed off gamers*.

*Real gamers. The quiet weird group at the back of a local gaming store, not the internet idiots.

Speaking of games, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with the secondary market for the various TCGs like Pokémon, YuGiOh and Magic if the economy goes south. The whole market exploded during COVID but the whales still had money then. Now, not so much.

With new products the prices will definitely be increasing and likely less will be sold than anticipated. Hasbro and WOTC are already price gouging on their upcoming crossover Magic/Final Fantasy set.

Pretty sure I remember Donnie saying on the campaign that he wanted the dollar to go down. Or from his staff people.

Cheap dollar means other countries can buy more US stuff. That is, unless you piss off all those potential customers.

Just keep printing money Donnie...
Exactly what happened last time. Bailing out the farmers meant the ag tariffs cost us billions. Higher prices on manufacturing meant the AC and steel tariffs cost us manufacturing jobs.

Why are stupid people permitted to hold office vote?

The sky is the limit, trump raised tariffs on CHina to 245% because they responded in kind. Next up Eleventy billion %
