Business, Economics, and Taxes: Eat Cereal for Dinner

I was fucking pissed when I saw that in our room. It’s why I’m in no hurry back.
Guessing if you say you’re diabetic or pumping they have to not charge you, but then again this is America

It was more fun when the Casinos didn’t all seem the same, too. Mirage and Monte Carlo weren’t fancy but reasonable and good location.

It’s been so long since I’ve been, I didn’t have to pay to use the pool at mandalay
Aren't like all the casinos in Vegas now owned by only 2 or 3 companies? It's a freaking monopoly.

I can name 3 casinos I go to that don't charge for fridges (Planet Hollywood, Harrahs and The Horseshoe) that is mostly an MGM thing. MGM ruins everything now that The Wynns lost their clout.

The rest of what you all said is true though.

The workers dont deserve it though...the union was against no tax on tips and endorsed Harris. A lot of them are gone though (especially the younger ones) because they can make more on Only Fans because the casinos are overcharging and over feeing everything. The average age of a waitress jumped like 12 years and they move slower than my dead grandma because they make nothing.

Vegas has been sinking for a while now and they are blowing money on stupid stuff like F1 and baseball. As a frequent travellor there I have zero plan to go back any time soon. It feels desperate and sad and I got better things to do with my money.

This is a harbinger though...travel is slowing down hardcore and I feel it is about to crater.

Nah, do Guinness, it was a good time. It's basically a giant museum with videos or things to read at every stop so I don't think I'd do anything besides the self-guided tour.

The whiskey tours I did were outside Dublin, so hard to recommend unless you're traveling the island.
Golf trip. Mostly in the Northwest but we have a couple of off days so looking for options. Redbreast is on the opposite side so not a great option

Is that a leading indicator of a retail crash?
Vegas has a lot of international visitors, and I would assume the Asian 'whales' disproportionately impact tips. So they're hit as much by the ICE crackdown as the overall economy.

Yep. It was noticeable when i was there a couple months ago and things hadnt even really gotten out of control yet.

CNBC just ran a fun little segment before a commercial break that talked about what to expect for Christmas due to tariffs. Summary was expect slightly higher prices and limited stock. Once items are gone, don't expect restock. Also said specialty items made 100% in China (certain Christmas lights was the example) may not be stocked at all.

If you’re going to have a car, Tullamore DEW was a great one, though it’s in the middle of nowhere. Jameson was great too because of how historical the place is, though as Handy said that’s down near Cork so you’d be covering the whole island. Granted it’s not that big so everything can technically be day trips.

I’m hoping to make a trip around the second week of April…

But besides that at this point for the price I’d just choose an all-inclusive or try an overseas vacation.

I checked out a couple Vegas subreddits and there are some hardliners there. People are stupid for not going to CVS to stock up on bottled water, people are dumb for complaining the Strip is too expensive when there are other places to stay and other things to do. I guess everyone is just an idiot for going to Vegas and trying to do exactly what Vegas advertises as the whole reason to go to Vegas.

Tullamore was one I wish we could have gone to :(

Staying on The Strip is fine...eat and drink off The Strip to save 25% or more. Downtown for people watching and more good restaurants once you leave Freemont.

Shopping at CVS/Walgreens is clutch no doubt.

Watched the video. Arguments like this are why we do not get anywhere. If the Billionaire's want to live in Texas and have their kids killed in a flash flood more power to them.
