Maybe. But people can get ****ed. You can choose between full employment, low rates, and low prices. Pick two.

Like seriously. "Oh I want a cheap house and cheap rates now that I have a job"

Get bent.
True. But we also need to start taxing the ever living fuck out of everyone who has more than one residence and use that to build more housing

That and houses over a certain size should have to pay some sort of tax when they are built. Large houses(5k+ sq ft) are an incredibly inefficient use of finite resources.

My interest rate comment was more on the developer side than buyer side.

So they’re basically coming in line with the rest of American companies and not having pensions then. It sucks but I’m shocked when I do hear someone has a pension now.

Heh. I have a pension that will pay me about $200/mo. when/if I retire. No new participants allowed in the plan for people hired after 2005.

I’m already feeling rich.

WB/Discovery already chitcanned GCN+, which Discovery owned, and was the major resource for those of us here in the states to be able to watch pro cycling. Cycling content supposed to be available through Max via the Barstool Sports add-on, but not sure how extensive that's going to be. Also charging like 4-5 times what a yearly subscription to GCN+ cost.

GCN+ had a lot of coverage of lesser known races, lots of coverage of women's events, and a ton of original produced content, all available live and on-demand. That on-demand feature is especially important for cycling, as the majority of races are in Europe, so they start at like 4 in the morning here. And many of the spring classics take place midweek when people are working, not to mention the week long tours, and the three week long Grand Tours. So far, it seems as if B/S Sports(what an appropriate moniker) is only offering live coverage of the major races, the smaller and women's events get the shaft. Can't imagine what we'll get under this new venture.

It's putting US cycling coverage back like 30-40 years, all for the pursuit of ever more money.

I’m sure it won’t be overpriced and be full of blackouts and useless content…

ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, FOX, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, truTV, as well as ESPN+.

That’s a pretty good lineup. Only missing CBSSN, USA, Paramount and Peacock. (And CBS and NBC, but those are OTA). But yeah, I will be interested to see the price. Even if you took the cable carrier cost that would be a lot, let alone with what’s basically a la carte for sports.

You say joint venture. I say collusion.

Comcast agrees with this post.

I can’t see paying $50 a month or whatever it will cost. It’s really going to suck whenever cable goes away. It may be overpriced but I think it was a lot better than whatever comes after it.

The Cable Co's are just going to become service providers anyway. Probably a hell of a lot cheaper for 'em to as they won't have to pay those networks to carry those channels.

They'll make mint freeing up the broadcast bandwidth on cable and turning around and offering that bandwidth as "Turbo 20G speed!" that you have to pay for as a premium extra on top your existing internet package.

And, as a way to smooth over the number of people who hop from streaming service to service to save a few bucks, the Cable Co's will likely start offering these streaming packages as bundles themselves:

"Get Xfinity 20G service with Peacock Basic free! Add Netflix basic and the Disney Bundle w/ads for just $25 a month! Want to stream commercial free? Upgrade to Xfinity Ad Free for $25 month!"

Well Xfinity is different anyways...since Comcast/Universal already has a streaming service in Peacock. I have no idea about what other cable outlets their are anymore but I can't imagine they have the reach Comcast does or the adaptability.

You know, "living in their Mom's basement" isn't the insult it used to be.
It means they made a sound financial decision and should be praised.

Comcast used to collectively bargain on our behalf to keep prices low. It was great.

Now they own the camera lens to the television screen. It's bad.
