Business, Economics, and Taxes 2: That's Why We Fight to Take the Means Back

Meanwhile, the automakers in Europe are pushing to *increase* the push to electric and off fossil fuels because "China isn't letting up."

So, congratulations America, you're going to have the newest Lada: a car relevant in only one country because the world has moved on without you.

The Lada is too expensive. I'm going for something more affordable...

Oh, goody. More mergers, less jobs, and less consumer choice. Everybody wins.
As I posted in the movie thread, Netflix claims it will allow WB to continue theatrical releases. We'll see. I expect HBO Max will be folded into Netflix. One less streamer I'll subscribe to. Fortunately I have a new Fiber line being installed today, so I'll see you on the high seas. 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

Netflix has emerged as the winner in the fight to acquire Warner Bros.

The deal is going to be worth approximately $85 Billion if it's allowed to happen.

I mean, sure... Netflix has yet to be profitable a single day in their existence and already has 300 Million subscribers.... How much room is there for them to grow?

They are the prime example of a modern business that has their entire growth scheme based around acquisition, debt, and POTENTIAL revenue that never comes to fruition.
I have been saying this for years...people never seem to get it.

Max will be merged in but it will take a while. It took at least a year for Max and Discovery+ to combine after their merger. (We had both)

I would guess Summer of '27 at earliest.

I love that someone pointed out that Fox is using the classic "green up arrow" for things that are actually bad so it looks like they are good.

MAGATS, at any given moment:

"Men, acting like women. Men wanting to be with one another, men touching each other. Their stubbly chins rubbing up against one another. Touching each other. Manly hands touching swirls of of chest hair. An occasional wiff of a rugged aftershave. Their low, baritone voices sighing, grunting. They hold one another in manly, masculine arms. Hold one another. Tight."

Ah, the sounds of the season:
