The trend to constrain who can get on a plane started as soon as the first one was hijacked. So lets not pretend that this is some kind of new development- it was turned up to 11 after 9/11.When I was a kid I was flying back from vacation with my parents and I had a balloon from Busch Gardens. And no one had an issue with that. Until we were at cruising altitude...
"Attention, passengers. Please don't be alarmed if you hear a loud bang. An 8-year-old brought a balloon on board and it might explode."
It didn't explode and I kept it on my wall as a souvenir until I left for college and my mom finally tossed it.
All things considered, the way we are tracked by the government is far less than how we are being tracked by private business. And posting here means you accept some of that very tracking.
