Business, Economics, and Taxes 2: That's Why We Fight to Take the Means Back

Target is going to let people shop via ChatGPT. Cause that will get those of us boycotting back.

Its gonna be awesome when the bubble bursts and Target goes tits up. That they fooled people for so long into believing they were progressive makes me sick.

It's not like most people have a choice. It's either Walmart or Target, or go online and use Amazon. That's the point of a monopoly. Eliminate options.

Trump is bribing us with 1/3 of our own money and half this country will fall for it.
Saw someone that is CONVICED that it will end income taxes. All it really does is convert it to sales tax. Which is worse on the poor- since more of their income is spent than for rich people. It's always interesting to see people claim that a "fair tax" or national sales tax is better than income tax- until you point out the obvious problem that it inverts the tax burden from what *should* be the rich solidly down on the poor.

All that really shows is that the r attack on education is really working, since people can't do reasonably simple math and logic.

The problem is that there are a number of items that you can only get from the South American river. Which sucks. Even ebay is light on those goods.
It's like when (I think) Jasmine Crockett was questioning the tariffs and the doofus said the tariffs were to encourage people to buy goods made in America and she held up a banana and said, "Do you understand that we can't grow these here?"

We dropped our Prime membership at the end of last year, and I've ordered a grand total of 3 things from Amazon in 2025. Two of those orders were in January. I don't think it's super difficult to avoid shopping there unless, ironically, you live in the boonies.

I switched all the periodic reorders of pet supplies to Chewy. Electronics, I try to buy directly from the manufacturer as often as possible. For foreign candy and snacks (higher quality instant ramen, Asian Kit-Kat flavors, etc.) we're admittedly fortunate to have local businesses to support.

So the NVDA earnings call is after the bell today. Bubbasucker has tweeted about the company three times so far today. Either he is signaling a buy to all his friends or he is hoping his gullible followers buy it up so he can short it just before close.

A reminder that socialists like Mamdani are bad because they want government interfering with business.
