Re: BU season thread 4 - 2014-15 // destiny's children

Who (other than Sean) can recall who opened the '90-'91 season paired with Amonte and McEachern? I only remember because I kinda knew him. Hint: he did some modeling on the side....

Mr Darren MacDonald. Based upon his career at BU, he was an odd choice to skate with Amonte and McEachern.

Winner! I was definitely surprised, but all I can think of is that I think he had decent speed, and you needed it to keep up with those two.

Since you stated recall I should have been included, especially since I had no idea. :)

Since it seems we are doing some trivia here is another one: Who was the last Terrier before Jack Eichel to play every game of his BU career at center?

I love the offseason when chatter here turns to trivia of days gone by. No really, I do!! I'm trying to get an answer for Sean's question. Sean - does "BU career" mean four years?

Corey Trivino?

No, just every game they played for BU.

Corey Trivino?
Close, but he played one game at left wing his senior season.

Another trivia contest: Since the start of Hockey East in 1984 who has played the most games at each position?
Left Wing
Center
Right Wing
Left Defense
Right Defense
Goalie

I'll give everyone a few days to come up with their selections. For bonus points guess how many games they played at that position. ;)

Yikes... Might be too specific for me to remember eight wing vs center etc...

I'll go with:

Goalie - Millan
Center - Jason Lawrence

I gotta think about the rest more ..

Personally, I would say .927 is great as long as it is not on a team is a trap/defensive team (say like Ryan Miller's MSU teams and the Cornell teams of the early 2000s). There can be no doubt, stats or no stats, that O'Connor got better as his career at BU progressed. Simply from watching him you could tell that he was much better. A few weird goals don't change that. And not for nothing, but there have been some awfully soft goals scored up in the bigs this seasons in the playoffs as well.
have you seen a goalie catch a puck from center ice and then throw it through his legs into the goal 8 minutes away from championship ? There is soft and then there is putrid

who says PC doesn't tie it if that never happens? still was a long time to go in the game.... what's kinda lost in all of this is the NoDak gaffe. 2 (soft and putrid;)) once in a lifetime miscues in 2 games, the semi and the final . Still, if anyone was paying attention on that face off PC would not have had the gift open look for the GW

Amen. I thought O'Connor started to pick up his play during the 2nd half of this year about the time scouts were sniffing around to sign him to a pro contract but obviously that all went to hell real quick.

One of the worst uses of a timeout in ncaa championship game history
BU was lucky to even be in the game as ND was by far the stronger team
