Definitely feel bad for O'Connor, no matter what your view of that play is, this is a kid playing a game. Knowing that, I hope everyone acts accordingly and treats him with class as he deserves.

he didn't shoot it in on purpose. he was trying his best. i know i feel awful for him.

Re: BU season thread 4 - 2014-15 // destiny's children

What are we supposed to do, thank him for costing us a national championship with the worst play most of us have ever seen? Everybody gets a trophy and all that? Yikes. I'm sick of this team *****ting the bed in big games. You react to them how you want, and I'll react to them how I want.

You're sick of them? Give me a break. Have a little perspective.

It's hard to win championships. They came **** close. They didn't play the way that got them there, but I guess that's what happens with a team this young. That was a crushing loss, I'm disappointed, but they entertained me all season and probably overachieved in the end.

One thing I' ll say is that I didn't feel like this team ever lacked heart or desire. They weren't always at their best, but they gave more than any BU team I've seen in a long time.

cason holhman busted his *** out there tonight. without a doubt the best player in scarlet and white (even with all the big name award winners and stars and draft picks). i wish things could have ended better for him.

What you posted wasn't worth quoting. But here's a suggestion: Why don't YOU take out a full page add in the Globe and Herald and apologize to your parents for being the utter disappointment and waste in life you've obviously become. While that goal was epic in it's unfortunate timing and badness, O'Connor probably accomplished more in the last 3 days than you are likely to in your entire life, even if you live to be 120.

This x1000.

No offense dude... But did you ever compete?

But let's talk about how many face offs Eichel won tonight Barry..oh wait, he lost at ton tonight.

Cason was BU's most gutsy player in this game and probably deserved the MoP if they won...I feel bad that Hohmann's performance was getting overlooked all night.

I agree and it is not as easy as it looks. I played goalie recently in 2 games because I couldn't find a goalie for my games and had to don the pads myself. It looks easy in the stands and on TV but a very tough position to play. Flukey bounces happen sometimes and does.

I dont care if Melrose was rooting for PC or laughing at BU the teams composure in the last 10 mins of the last two game was laughable and surprising. Teams youth realty shone through . As for OC sadly for him overseas may be his only shot.

Unbelievable. Definitely another Bill Buckner moment. It will last forever.

What a crushing defeat. I feel bad for O'Connor. But, as others have said, it is not all on him. Terrible coverage on the GWG. Was actually a nice pick by PC, but you have to fight through that. And he wasn't the one that let the put up 20 shots on the third, or whatever the total was. It's not like this was a guaranteed win if he doesn't mishandle the puck.

Disappointing to see some of the responses by a couple BU guys on here. For christs sake, this team far exceeded EVERYONES expectations this year, won three trophies out of four, and darn near won it all. All with the youngest team in the country. If you want to ***** about the coaching, the goalie, or whatever, that is your choice, but you come off as real a holes.

This. I feel like I'm living in bizarro world. BC fans in here showing more grace than some of the BU diehards. At the end of the game, this couple behind me who were PC fans yelled "Get off the ice you crybabies!!!!" to the BU players who were laying on the ice devastated after that loss. And the three BC fans sitting in front of me turned around and were horrified. I almost hugged them.

Was losing the game that way worse than if Providence just smoked us, like, 5-2? I can't tell. Either way, it sucks. But - and sorry to say it Jofa - this was an incredible season. We're raising five banners in October. Five. I'm looking forward to next season.

And RossiRules...did that make you feel better? I'm glad. Also, thanks for the hospitality at Matthews yesterday where I watched a one of my team's players win the Hobey Baker Award. It was pretty awesome. They also announced the All American teams. Two Terriers made that as well. Great day over there. You shoulda gone.

I am sure no one feels worse than O'Connor. It really is going to jurt, both short term and long term.
He had a terrific season, shouldering the entire load after Maguire had to red-shirt the season.
He has always been a great shot-stopper, really improved on not giving away so many rebounds, and reportedly had 14 NHL teams interested in signing him.

He gave up two of the worst goals in the history of the Frozen Four, both game-changers at the worst of times. BU hung on to beat the Former Sioux, but the next one was just like Buckner's error (it didn't actually cost the game, but set the stage for it).
How many NHL teams are still interested? How many thousands of free agent dollars did he lose?
And for as well as he played all season, that goal is what he will be remembered for most.

After 2013-14, is there anyone that wouldn't have taken a Beanpot, Hockey East regular season title, Hockey East playoff championship, Hobey Award winner, trip to the Frozen Four and the national championship game ... with the youngest team in the country?
I would have bit your hand of for that kind of season.

Well done, BU. Terrier Hockey is Back!
And there is plenty of incentive still there for this team. It might even bring a couple of them back, who might have been lost, to finish the job.
