Re: BU season thread 4 - 2014-15 // destiny's children

I don't recall him doing this during the regular season. O'Connor's sorties have been starting in Manchester, if I recall. Just leave the puck there, man. Let the defense take care of it.
The one in the first Wisconsin game was quite memorable actually... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeEef3QmtvI#t=2m56s

What I saw was AFTER everything had quieted down, he skated by the North Dakota player and bumped him with his shoulder. It was a DUMB play and clearly instigating. He was just lucky that the ND player retaliated, and they caught that. Not a good game by ERod...I know he was great in the regionals...just not tonight. Hope he bounces back.

He was very lucky. https://vine.co/v/eBxqvVHPtq7

I think I've finally returned to a regular heartbeat. Man, we made that way too exciting in the end. Can't expect Gillies to be as soft as Zane was last night (disappointing for him if that's his last game), so need to be smarter.

I don't think the refs ever saw it, nothing they did made it look like they were going to call anything before Pattyn sprinted after him, and based on them not calling Pattyn for hitting Ahti in the face twice right in front of them I think they were going to call even up or nothing on anything that happened after that whistle. Still dumb.

Do you know something we don't?

He was just finally answering the question I asked months ago :p

Re: BU season thread 4 - 2014-15 // destiny's children

What a difference a superstar makes!

Who's that? Based on what everyone here (I mean on all the threads, not the BU fans) has been saying, he sucks. "Routine" pass, "easy" backhander, empty-netter. Doesn't play 200 feet, is overrated, and, of course, "We're sick of Buccigross (like anything he says matters) mentioning him all the time."

You must have been talking about McIntyre, the greatest goalie in the greatest league...the scouts obviously know nothing rating Jack 2nd overall. Just look at Schiarelli, that spectacular talent evaluator (especially of goalies). He picked McIntyre AND Subban. So what do we morons know????

I don't get that part. One of the most important things Eichel did was drawing the great hooking penalty in the first.

Nope..he sucks. Like someone from UMD said two weeks ago, "Just wait 'till he gets hit a few times." Yup...we're still waiting. I saw at least five times last night someone trying to knock him off the puck and he just brushed them away like flies. But he shouldn't win the Hobey. It's just East coast "bias" and the media "machine." I don't know why I waste my time because it just takes all the joy out of it.

Re: BU season thread 4 - 2014-15 // destiny's children

just noticed that if the unthinkable happens, bu will have the same team hand them their first loss of the year AND their last. mookie wondered if that has ever happened before....
low and behold it occurred in 2003/04 dropping their 4th game of the year at alfond, then losing to the skating puddin' (ch)eaters in the hea semi-finals.

onto lighter items :D... eichel is now +51

sioux were pushing all night before and after the whistle in crowds. f them.

It won't

Not good enough for the Hobey. He should be +10000000000000 And even then, he doesn't play defense so there are at least 200 players in the NCHC better than he...

Whioux?

PC was running massa a bit, nothing got called. Seems like both crews wanted to let the teams play. Think they did a good job overall. Didn't like the boarding call by ref at center ice when hickey was already going down but the best thing you can say is there are no real officiating controversies to talk about.

Not sure what the need was to review und's 3rd goal but i'm used to that by now.

Chickod you need to calm down man. I know you think this BU team is the greatest thing since sliced bread but last night i saw two evenly matched teams. Both goalies had off nights, difference being o'connor gave up his softies with his team already up a couple goals.

Re: BU season thread 4 - 2014-15 // destiny's children

If E-Rod deserved something more for the high stick, then the refs also should have given the ND kid 5 for the hit to the head on DOR.

Re: BU season thread 4 - 2014-15 // destiny's children

Can't hit E-Rod with a suspension now when it was "let 'em play" during the game. I too had no problem with the refs. They were consistent at the very least.

That's not what I saw. What I saw was a game that was over until he basically put the puck into his own net for a short-handed goal. That's not a SOFT goal, that's a MORONIC play. You can't even compare the two. The game was over and BU made it unnecessarily a nail-biter.

I don't know what you want me to say. It's hockey. ANY team can win any night with a fluke bounce or a goalie who stands on his head. To be three goals up more than halfway through the 3rd period in a Frozen Four semifinal is quite an accomplishment, especially when you're playing against the best team in a far superior league. To be three up against a team which I'm sure could win the Stanley Cup is amazing. Especially when your best player sucks and gets "lucky" all night.

I didn't know that "skating stride for stride" with someone was a statistic. What is that, like 1st downs? Time of possession? Punting average? The only statistic that matters, the last time I checked, was the score at the end of the game.

When you win, you are the BEST TEAM. Do you want to go back to 1977 when the ref skated over to Parker (BU was down one) and said "When you pull the goalie, the guy BETTER NOT leave early from the bench," after which he proceeded to call too many men on the ice. Do you want to go back to 2006? Did anybody say BU was "better" than BC after the game in the Centrum, even though they had beaten them five times that season? If Providence wins Saturday, I will come on here and congratulate them. No excuses. If BU doesn't win the game, they have nobody to blame but themselves. But they WON the game last night and they were the better team.

Are you starting to get a clue as to why I might be a bit upset? I seem to recall the teams that BC beat saying that they were beaten by a better team and they took their hats off to them and that they couldn't believe the amazing amount of talent that BC and York had amassed. I didn't hear any talk that BC got outskated and outplayed and got lucky with "soft" goals. But I guess that's just me.

Re: BU season thread 4 - 2014-15 // destiny's children

Take it up with someone who has said bu was lucky or didn't deserve to win. I think you've lost your mind.
