BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

I think this quote from the BHB states it fairly well. The team for next year is built very similarly to this one. Is BU building a *team* or just a collection of the highest draft picks they can get?
I just finished listening to Jack O'Callahan on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast. (Jack is a national treasure.) At the end he talks about winning. And what it takes. I was screaming "YES!" in my kitchen when he said it. Spoiler alert: It's the opposite of what this BU team is right now.

Zip to one hour and fifteen minutes in for the start of the interview. It's awesome. It's got DugOut stories, brawl against Minnesota stories, Herb Brooks stories, 80 Olympic stories and great stuff about his career path.

There is a reason all-star games are mildly entertaining…bunch of stars skating against other stars with no real consequence.
BU plays like an all-star team that travels around to play real teams…on any given night they can out-talent a team but when faced with a small/zero talent gap and/or a team committed to playing as a team, the Terriers quickly lose their luster and devolve into gimmicky passes, poor positioning and thoughts of after-game festivities.

If I were the coach I’d go to no captains or game captains based on effort … Rouk, Bednarik, Svoboda would be my current choice for captains. Lawrence might be the youngest guy but he plays harder than 80% of the team.

Seeing the work Vrabel did in the last 12 months to instill identity, accountability and intensity…it can be done…I wonder if BU got complacent and assumed any group of draft picks will succeed.

The UConn HE semi and NC game should have been red flags that the team lacked many things. Those deficiencies were exacerbated by the roster decisions for this year.
