BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

This is just a bad hockey team right now. I don’t know what else to say. Now we keep the goals down and can’t find the net against a backup goalie. Lose in the last minute. I didn’t peg this team for 15-18 losses, but it’s increasingly looking that way.
Not to pile on, but BU first goal was offside. And the top notch HEA officials blew chunks on this "re-view".
And the second goal BU had 6 men on the ice, HEA geniuses missed that one too. I will come back and post the offside screen shot from the feed in the next post.

Did NU coaches challenge this?
Yes, the NU coaches challenged this. But the HEA "officials" :sick:somehow missed it AGAIN looking at from 27 different angles and a few spy balloons..........the proverbial "fix is in".
With regard to the too many men, the entire coaching staff, and at least 200 of us in the stands were screaming for it. Puck hit the sixth guy entering the ice, and the other guy wasn't close to being off the ice. They just continued to see a different game. The officiating in this conference is awful, and always has an agenda other than "calling the game on the ice". NU won, but stuff like this changes games when it shouldn't

They aren’t a team. Just a group of kids who are frustrated and tense and skating around. The breakaways are a perfect example. The failure is a self fulfilling prophecy.

And of course no feel for the D man unchecked to tee up the winner.

They need to find the joy. Seriously. I sat directly behind their bench and it’s nothing but stick flinging and door slamming. It’s a losing formula.

BU Hockey: Broken

That first goal was “awarded” to BU despite the zone entry being a yard offside. I’ve watched hockey since before Zambonis were used In MSG, and I thought I understood the rules. Apparently the linesmen missed the call twice - first live and then on replay. Perhaps they were using a different rule book, or maybe they were too embarrassed to admit their mistakes!

FYI Joe Connor, who scored the GWG wasn’t a D. He is the LW on the second line, who has been a victim of some spectacular goaltending early this season. Each goalie played a solid game. Nothing came easy.

With all the technology available today to overturn a bad call on the ice, we still have outcomes that are incorrect after review. Not sure what these refs saw. When will AI replace Zebras, Umps etc. not in just hockey but all sports? Humans suck in comparison, they are imperfect, slow, partial and can be bribed.

Enough with the whining. Jesus. You won. The BU player never touched the puck. It's a nothing burger.

Back to BU Hockey. The lack of scoring is really the bigger concern right night. Eiserman was a ghost last night. Harvey was a ghost last night. The forwards have no chemistry.

And back to my bench observations. This team sorely lacks a mature leader to pump guys up. To send some positive vibes into the their game. They're gripping their sticks and hoping they aren't the one to make a mistake. That's no way to live.

BU Hockey: Need a Sports Psychiatrist

1st goal was grossly offsides. But sure seemed that Hutson scored on his wraparound. So it equaled out.
The gwg was a rocket right past mike’s ear. No chance there 💁🏿
Either way this team sucks ass. Big stinky ass.

I was impressed with some of BU's role players and Hutson has the puck on his stick half the game but boy was Eiserman invisible. Reminded me of Jack Hughes (at least the two years at NU) Feels like he was told he was special at 14 years old and stopped working, shades of Oliver Wahlstrom

Just pitiful. . .

And
Does Matthews have an overhead camera for goal line reviews?
They showed it several times on ESPN+, but the crossbar and the goalie's pads blocked things.
From the view and the goalie's positioning, you could infer it went in, but that ain't how they do it.
Puck was blocked from view.

Despite all the deserved trashing of this team they are still worth watching because Cole Hutson is the most exciting player in the country no doubt. I continue to say he’s better than Lane and will be a better pro not to minimize how well Lane has done in both places. He joins Leonard later this season just like Macklin and Smith teamed up last year. Good stories for local hockey rivals.

Way to kill a pretty decent period of hockey.
Unbelievable- a “perfect” period ruined. They couldn’t just go 100% for 10 seconds?? Cole Hutson just let that guy occupy the crease. Not a finger on him to try to push him out. People are more physical with me in front of the net in my rec league for goodness sake.

Yep, I was pretty pleased until they went soft for that goal. It seems everyone they play knows how the put in a full 60:00 effort. Their attention span is sorely wanting.
