I think they've done much better overall this season. It's that opening face off on a power play that just bother the bejesus out of me. They lose a good 30 seconds of power play time to get back into the zone to set up. That last face off on Saturday in the offensive zone they lost was a killer.

theres a few guys who definitely have some grit.
Brandon Svoboda made WJC on the merit of being that sort of guy. im pretty sure GMMG drafted him because they played similarly. 2023 3rd round pick
you might not know this but Sacha Boisvert is a decent boxer. Dad owns a boxing/taekwondo gym in Montreal, if he wasn't playing hockey he was in the ring. he can't scrap like he normally would in college but he's no stranger to physicality or standing up for teammates, just he's more useful to his team not in the box. hopefully he gets healthy soon. 2024 1st round pick
Malte Vass' profile is literally "heavy hitting physical defenseman". will be that type once he gets the trust of the coaching staff, which he doesn't have yet. He only played 4 minutes in that second MSU game. also having to adapt to the NA ice. 2025 3rd round pick
Carter Amico is similarly an aggressive freshman dman gaining the trust of the coaching staff, he is coming off of a knee injury that ended his season last november and it is possible he's a little more cautious with his physicality still. 2025 2nd round pick
These are just the guys I'm familiar with- I'm sure there are others in the lineup. Svoboda has shown it so far but that isn't new, he just has more ice time, Boisvert has been injured? sick? and barely played, and the other two are freshman defensemen working their way into the coaches good graces. Those might take some time.
The nice thing is that most schools in the nation are dealing with this exact same thing. Lot of shakeup in NCAA. The only teams that appear to be fully running off the bat are MSU, Michigan, and Western Michigan, and two of those teams already had a wacky loss to an unranked opponent. BU is the best of the teams running to catch up, which is a perfectly fine spot.
When Roukounakis comes back, I expect some of it to come from him. Do we know when he's coming back?

Wild game so far 5:01 into the second. I hate to say it, but so far Big Mike hasn't been the impregnable fortress we were seeing last year.
This is absolutely disgusting to watch. For as great an offensive opportunity night (and putting 4 in the net so far), the non-ability to get to pucks in our own end or stop plays is just embarrassing.

Yikes..that was hard to watch. However, I wouldn't worry unless the same outcome happens tomorrow in Stores. That said now that the Pairwise is history a 4 goal differential, at home in this new system hurts.

1) Was it the correct call on Cavanaugh’s challenge?
2) Was the play Pandolfo challenged egregious enough to warrant a challenge? And if it was, how was it not even called a two?
3) How was that third period non-goal reviewed when neither team had a challenge?
Both Pandolfo and Cavanaugh were reeeeallly pissed at the refs after their challenges were denied.
