BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

LIU had a clear plan with a couple unorthodox wrinkles and did their best; talent level discrepancy too much.

A few neutral zone turnovers triggered my PTSD. Last year early we seemed to get scored off those turnovers at least once a game. Clean up after TO and goaltending already more sharp.

Two pretty goals, two greasy goals. Love to see Boisvert and Eiserman score in those yucky/ouchy areas.

Anyone else have issues with ESPN+ stream? Very choppy.
Agreed on all points. A bit concerned about overconfidence to start the season so someone punching them in the face a bit was a good thing.

Ritchie is gonna be fun to watch develop.

Yeah feed was super choppy

Ritchie showed his skills and smarts. Although he was drafted 2nd round, BU believes he has first-round talent. And he's used to playing with super-skilled guys. Played youth hockey with Macklin, Major Junior with McKenna and now with the Coles and Sascha.

First of all, those Long Island University Sharks Uni's...

Other notes:
  • Cole Hutson is going to be a Hobey finalist
  • Cole Eiserman is going to score 30 goals (And looks faster.)
  • Too many "M" names on this team. 🙃
  • The band's game was also a bit rough.
  • BU's young talent played fast and loose for long stretches, but I get it. They'll reign that shit in.
  • A W is a W. Clean-up the fixable stuff and press on
  • Great crowd for opening night. Let's keep it going.

I would love to know what the unorthodox wrinkles were if you don’t mind explaining.

You notice the floating fwd who would skate around center ice while the terriors had the puck in their offensive zone? This produced the sharks 2nd goal.
Haven’t seen that for some time. Last mookie recalls was mack doing so close to a decade ago.

Said it last year Cole >Lane and that’s saying something. The way Eiserman ended last year and then last night we are lucky that he hung around another level scoring ability that doesn’t come along to often. Boisvert is elite and seems very happy to be here. Liked Amico, Ritchie and Morello. Nice to have the steady and slick veteran presence of Harvey and Bednarik continues to be an underrated force

Watching and this stream sucks.

Watched igles v quinny Friday night and that was fine. Didn’t have a single problem. Left then to guess it is an Agganis issue. Not a surprise then to be honest💁🏾

Eiserman went down on a knee to block a shot in the 3rd which shocked (pleasantly) mookie👍🏾
Harvey was slipping and falling a number of times during the 1st. Glad to see someone sharpened that skates during the break 😉

This and stuff like sending the 6th forward in late when they had the extra attacker PP … that guy had daylight.

Ah yes. Classic youth hockey move for when the D aren’t paying attention. I remember ‘Mack doing it too. Thanks for the explanation.

What's the story with Nick Roukounakis (#7)? Hurt? If so, how soon is he expected to be available?

Sacha Boisvert - did not return for the 2nd or 3rd period yesterday. Hope he's okay and nothing to keep him out this coming weekend.

Great to see Max Lacroix pitch a shut-out. Here's hoping he gets some league action (Or the second Colgate game?) this season.

Cole Eiserman seems like a fun kid :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Cole Eiserman on playing with Sacha Boisvert and Ryder Ritchie: "It's awesome. Two really good players... A CHL guy and a guy from North Dakota — very lucky to have them. Sasha was obviously unbelievable. He loves hockey. He's one of those French Canadians. Those guys are nuts, and they're awesome to be with. And Ryder's such a skilled offensive player, really good to be around. Really enjoying playing with them and hopefully can play with them the whole year."

Roukounakis has a broken hand and will miss first semester.
Pandolfo said Boisvert's upper-body injury was not serious. He was held out as a precaution. They're also managing the time of Amico who played his first game in about 11 months on Friday.

Question on polls…now mind you, I don’t care where BU ended up this week. I’m just curious how BU dropped and neither Western or Michigan St played actual games. I can see it if BU lost, but they didn’t.

Polls right now are based on vibes. I'm betting a fair few voters are just voting on names. Look at where BC is rated by Hockey East coaches in the season preview poll v. their placement in the first national poll.

Based on BU's opponents, they probably thought a Top 3 team shoulda won 6-1, 5-0 this weekend. 🤪. So Western and Michigan State's non-existent games were more impressive. 🙃
