BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Speaking of jerseys… anyone have insight on what the selection will be this year?

I’d love to see the one I think of as the “most traditional” make a return to the rotation. (Worn largely in the 90’s / Parker era - what do we call those?)
Presumably they are keeping their usual "double stripes" (aka the Candy Canes) as those have been more or less their "standard set" for the better part of the past decade, with the Garrity Era "Boston University" set for "special occasions" as they've done in recent years. There's probable potential to bring out the late 70s "Terrier" Throwbacks for a few. I doubt they bring back the "single stripes" (the Parker Era), for one, the Terrier throwbacks have essentially the same base and don't carry the stigma of the Albie Era that the "traditional" single stripes carry.

Interesting- just saw on instagram.. the women’s team still seems to wear the “single stripe”

Anyone else catch the scrimmage? Of the new guys, Ben Merrill stood out to me (despite getting drilled from behind into the boards by his own captain). Fondrk looked solid too, with a non contact jersey on. I wish I could remember all the line combos. There was an all Frosh line, was it Merrill, McNelis, Morello? I may have one of those wrong. Top line was Ritchie, Boisvert, Eismerman. Harvey, McLaughlin, Fondrk, I think as well. Svoboda was at RW, centered by Bednarik, maybe with Murtagh? They will be able to roll out 4 really good lines. Amico looked good on D, big body.

Sounds like we'll be without Fondrk and Roukunakis. I'm very interested to see how all the freshmen d-men do. If we want to challenge for a title, we need two or three of them to step up and be impactful as freshmen. We had 4 freshmen d in the line-up in '14-'15 so it can be done.

An injury to freshman goalie Steven Luciano required a call-up for Jack Perry from the club team.
Will there be a banner-raising tonight for updated Beanpot and Frozen Four banners.

Nobody celebrates going to the Frozen Four and losing bud

Now that CHN has teams' rosters updated and we can compare, no surprise that BU is extremely young and the youngest team in D1 at 20 years, 1 month average age. Huge gap to the second youngest team of Michigan at 20 years, 9 months.

And yet the Arena's Frozen Four banner doesn't omit seasons without a national championship.
Any problem celebrating another Beanpot title?
Making a Frozen Four is absolutely an accomplishment to be celebrated in my book. Making 3 in a row and not winning one kind of waters down the achievement for sure. Need to put a championship on the board!

Excited for this campaign to get started tonight! Go BU!

Whether you approve or not, BU has had a banner listing its FF appearances for many years. We all want to see them win another national championship but I don’t mind the banner. It speaks to the consistency of the program. Not to mention some years where even making the FF was a big deal (check out 1990).

LIU did a good job taking BU out of their game too. They ultimately did what they needed to and should learn something about how they need to compete out of it. It took them half the season last year to learn it and turned over half the roster this year.
A few thoughts after my first look at this team:
Eiserman looked significantly faster.
Merrill impressed me with his hustle.
Svoboda looked stronger
Ritchie will be a force once he gets a little stronger

LIU must’ve blocked 437 shots. Overall not the prettiest of games, but a win is a win is a win.

And as for celebrating the Beanpot and Frozen Four appearances, they never update them till the next season. And they should be celebrated so I don’t know why it should be an issue. I was disappointed they didn’t even spotlight them.

LIU was scrappy. Terriers handled this better than a lot of early season trap games in recent years. I thought the passing was sharp; they need to be more attentive on defense, as usual. Overall, I was satisfied.

LIU had a clear plan with a couple unorthodox wrinkles and did their best; talent level discrepancy too much.

A few neutral zone turnovers triggered my PTSD. Last year early we seemed to get scored off those turnovers at least once a game. Clean up after TO and goaltending already more sharp.

Two pretty goals, two greasy goals. Love to see Boisvert and Eiserman score in those yucky/ouchy areas.

Anyone else have issues with ESPN+ stream? Very choppy.
