BU Hockey '25-'26: Can we keep up the run to Vegas?

Good question. Butterfly effect. I think that goal would have built confidence and momentum, so yes. Whether it would have been the season we expected (as reflected in the title of this thread), who knows? These are young kids.

I think yes on Dave’s point on confidence. Also, not doing the math I think it would have helped a little with NPI. And maybe they don’t crap the bed against the weaker teams (VT, Merrimack) with that confidenxe and we are at least in the tournament with the talent and coaching to make a run.

Also, I think Eiserman wasn’t the same after his injury against UConn and is just getting back into form. I think Hutson is also just coming back to form after his WJC injury. The decision making speed has come back finally the last few games.

I haven’t caught every game but last night seemed to be Hutson’s best game since the injury. Breakout overall looked better. One other factor is Lawrence. Although not a dynamic offensive force, he’s a smart player who is the type who makes those around him better. It’s not easy to join mid-season but he’s looking more comfortable.

Nobody saw that one coming. It looks like the bye week saved their season. 😎

Two shorthanded goals? Snipes? Great goaltending? Be still my heart.

BU Hockey: On Life Support - But Not Dead Yet

Let me ask you all a question. Do you think this season would have gone differently if Eiserman’s OT goal against MSU wasn’t called back? I feel like they never recovered from that weekend and it affected them moving forward.
Not really. I don’t think BU fans realize exactly how bad this forward group is. There’s one game left in the regular season and Eiserman leads the forward group with 23 points. That’s historically bad.

Pandolfo has tried almost all of the forwards on the PP this season. Nothing works because none of the forwards can make a play with the puck. (Particularly with someone near them)

Don’t leave the D out of that. They have also been bad.

I think the excitement (?) here is that they actually have looked good the last few games. Creative, winning battles, resilient.

Epic under achievement young or not. The BC weekend sweep which I can’t remember over the last 25 yrs or so just drives home that fact. Succeeding in the “spoiler” role is nothing to be happy about it’s not even bittersweet it’s just embarrassing. The NoDak transfers were a major fail from the coaching staff. Do better next year with the portal. Have never forgiven them for losing Wilmer
