I don’t know how this team wins another game with 4 healthy D with experience. Basically 3. Oy.

And Gallagher was a jumpy turn-over machine tonight.

You can absolutely beat Lowell. They probably had no business beating UConn or being in this game with 7 shots.

Really didn't like how often the team was knocked off the puck and on their ass by Providence and Pando needs to make adjustments much earlier in the game. Looked like it was going to end up like the NU Beanpot game. Would like to see a better gameplan from the start against teams that play a physical game.

Despite all that, winning makes everything better. However they need to win the title tomorrow or this season is a disappointment. They need to prove that they can come up big in a big game.

OK...now I can breathe. I think they DID start to make adjustments (finally). It seemed as though in the OT they focused more on getting the puck deep. Previously one player would try to pull the puck around. They finally realized that they had to just get the puck behind the defense and forget about the pretty play. Providence just makes you play that way. It's ugly, but that's how they have had success.

They made a more concerted effort in the final couple of minutes in the 3rd and throughout OT to enter the zone by taking the puck wide and using speed to get past the blue line, then look to the front of the net for scoring opportunities. Both goals were scored this way. Not sure I understand the comment from Bomber that they finally started to look like themselves the last 5 minutes of OT. I thought they played pretty good hockey throughout all of OT and the final couple minutes of the game.

The Freep tweeted out the Case McCarthy broke his collarbone. Yikes. That was so scary to see.

It was but thankfully it appears Case is (comparatively) OK. I've heard from a few different folks that he indeed broke his collarbone and may have sustained a concussion but they believe he does not have a spinal injury.

Of course, he's done for the year but that's fine. He can recover from a collarbone injury and play again next year and that's all that matters.

Someone caught a picture of him giving a thumbs up to the team as he was coming off the ice: https://twitter.com/chnews/status/1636889145921671168

In the last 13 periods of HE playoffs I’ve watched (tonight and BC/MC) there have been 4 goals scored when the goalie had a stick. I’m not sure if this is the most impressive showing of hockey skill.

Beat Merrimack and you're in Manchester. Lose and you could still end up in Manchester but there's a chance you go to Bridgeport with QU.

Five of the six games yesterday went to OT. The scores were all 1-0 or 2-1, with one game finishing 3-2.

Again, how does BU win another game with three healthy defensemen?

Everyone likes OT in these games but ya they could have used a few more goals. The one sided nature of the Hockey East games (in regulation anyway since both BU and UML played their best hockey in OT) was not pretty.

I wasn't paying that close attention so how did Fensore look yesterday? Did he have his minutes cut back at all? I think the bigger question will be what does Merrimack have left in the tank. I could see BU take over as the game goes on.

I thought Fensore looked to be about 60%. He did not have his usual burst of speed and his stick skills looked hampered. Of course, the whole team was gripping their sticks too hard and peeing down their legs all over the place, so.....

House money tonight. I want to go in the dressing room and say to them: "Fuck it! Just go out there and have fun. Play. Shoot. play for each other."

And regarding the two D men who got next to ZERO ice-time this year. This is a D1 program, right? These kids were recruited to play D1. And yet... Not really sure why there is such a massive drop-off between Dman #5 and the rest of the Dman room.

BU Hockey: Next Man Up

Lane Hutson (insert smiley face)...although I am totally being serious

Speaking of Lane Hutson. His rush up ice that led to the tying goal... ChefKiss. Go find the slow-mo version on social media. The kid is special. And he might have to play half the game tonight.

I meant the defensemen who never play. Like Lachlan Getz.

It's an interesting question for Pandolfo. Do you go all out to win tonight and potentially run some guys into the ground including Fensore or do you take your chances rolling 6 D and accept whatever happens. The way I see it you guys have locked up a spot in Manchester or Bridgeport and might be better served to take a cautious approach tonight.

It’s certainly an interesting debate but I think you go out and try to win this thing.
