BU 2021-22: Albie's Great Adventure

Good move for BU. Albie is a nice guy and great recruiter but didn't have the cache to be the head coach. Program needs a high end coach and culture change. Pandolfo checks a lot of those boxes for sure.

you hit it on the head. The culture of the program needs to change a full 180 and some people are great coaches and recruiters and just are not meant to be head coaches. I do not see Pandolfo taking the full time gig. The reason he left the Bruins was to spend more time with his family and I think he is happy to be an assistant who adds great value.

I think the Bruins coaching job requires a to of travel and time away from the family. They are on the road a ton. Being in Hockey East would greatly limit travel and still give him time for family. Who even knows if he is interested in the job....got me just tossing my 2 cents out there.

Whatever the case, a new HC needs to be in place *very* fast. With easy access to the transfer portal or the pros, our current roster and incoming recruits have many options elsewhere if BU drags their feet.

While my understanding is the final decision was made this morning, I would hope the AD has already put together a list and made backchannel contact with some candidates in advance of this morning's decision.

Ok here's your chance to branch out past the BU network. See if some other guys are interested in a new challenge. With their seasons being over i am thinking of Greg Carvel and Rand Pecknold. This might not have been the case years ago but does BU even pay more than whatever Carvel is making right now? You guys give off a vibe that the BU administration isn't all in on sports so I am curious about HC salary for your premier sport.

Call Mike Hastings while you're at it.
