BU 2017 Season Thread III: Terriers falling (into the off season)

BU is completely gassed. Time of possession must be 90/10 in this period. Unbelievable...

They have been outplayed in a major way had no business up 3-1 and this will go down as another miserable first round loss. Shots 16-5 in biggest period of their season. Pathetic effort quite frankly

what's the saying?

"he can lose with his. and he can take yours and lose with yours."

(ok, so mookie just made that up :) )

So the good news is BU has come out flying in each of the previous two periods. If they can do the same it will be over. :)

I guess. Some of this has to be on the players though, right? I mean they can't get the puck out of their own end for MINUTES at a time? It can't all be the "scheme." They are just not reacting quickly enough. You can't beat an aggressive two man forecheck the way they are trying to.

then you either get players that can, or the coaches show them how to.

this ain't friggin' rocket science. 6yo play hockey.

Too little too late.
The tv announcer did you in. "The goaltender from BU, Oettinger, is really holding his own as a freshman". BANG... GOAL.

What the hell happened to the D on that 3rd goal? Two guys got behind them all alone 5' in front of the net. Most teams generally tie up that area when up a goal late in the third.

A little late for that now. Just let them go and let the talent dictate. This is not the time to start diagramming plays! :)

They playing scared. You see Roberto finally get it out moves the puck 1 foot and gives it right back to a guy three feet in front of him. That face off goal cost them the game against a 4th line after a time out

They're exhausted...that's what happened. When you face relentless pressure you start running around in your own end. If you haven't noticed, BU has ZERO presence in the neutral zone...they'll letting ND just fly through center ice with no resistance.

What a strange hockey game. BU completes the strangeness and stuns them in ot

I especially loved the camera angle from behind bellows that shows him gliding slowly towards the net with his hands by his side while the North Dakota player is busting his *** to score a game-tying goal right in front of him.

GQ never loses games off a faceoff

I think he was watching the guy behind him in the event that they slid it over to him. Bottom line is they are tentative. That's the best word to describe what we've seen all year, and why they've been inconsistent.

You never know. They could come out flying and score in the first minute or things could continue the way they have been going. It's an enigma with this team.

Same crap he's done all season...he isn't -10 by accident

I didn't know until today that McAvoy was a first round pick of the Bruins. Love these guys...
