Re: BU 2017 Season Thread II: Terriers rising

Just out of curiosity (and because I don't have time and/or am too lazy to go through all the scenarios), if BU loses tonight, the only way for them to catch BC is if BC also loses. But that would mean that Lowell wins. Then if BU wins tomorrow night, you would have a three-way tie:

BU - 29
BC - 29
UML - 29
ND - 28

Who wins the three-way tie between BU, BC and UML?

All three share the regular season title obviously but playoff seedings would put Lowell at at least 2nd by virtue of bc season sweep. Don't know how tiebreaker between Lowell and bu would work with season split. Brain hurts too much over last few days with all the analysis going on.

Re: BU 2017 Season Thread II: Terriers rising

if only todd had a thread to answer stuff like this.....

think since both umlol and bu sweep bc the igles are 3rd.
bu and umlol split
but umlol would have more wins and get the 1

Undoubtedly has to be Switzer over Diffley. Probably one of Andren/Kelley as the 12th F.

Undoubtedly you would be correct based on actual hockey being played on the ice. That really isn't how it works team politico. I was a proponent that they both get a shot. Switzer clearly was the better of the two all weekend so based on that I say Diffley plays D and Switzer takes the F spot. Not the right move but I hope BU can pull it out

And I see that's what Quinn did, but I don't agree with it. Diffley was a major defensive liability last weekend and Andren or Kelley as the 12th forward is a suitable fill there. Switzer was more than competent as the 6th D.

He wasn't the 6th D last weekend he was probably 3 or 4 and much better than Fabbro to be honest...hey I know...let's get to what is basically the Hockey East championship game and then play guys together on D who have not played together all year...good plan

Oh my the offense is scintillating...I'm sure Diff will pop one in as soon as he finds his stick...DQ is a genius..Play Bellows more he's awesome.

Bellows is playing fine. The players aren't the issue, the system is the issue. Why take the puck to the net when we can keep it along the boards or behind the goal line?

Re: BU 2017 Season Thread II: Terriers rising

BU taking crashing the net to a new level but somehow the puck doesn't go in

One goal in the biggest game of the year! What a great coach! I'm particularly impressed with the decision on the power play. We have a man advantage so we put two players directly next to each other so they can be covered by one defenseman and so that all three together will completely block the net and keep us from getting any shots on goal.

When will this moron be fired?

Re: BU 2017 Season Thread II: Terriers rising

This might be one of the worst passing teams I've ever watched. At least lately. Every pass is either to no one or directly to the other team. They can't seem to receive passes cleanly or settle the puck either.

As for the offensive strategy, playing for a tip in or a wrap around on every offensive possession is really getting old. I'm not sure they know you're actually allowed to just try to shoot it past the goalie.

Re: BU 2017 Season Thread II: Terriers rising

That was painful to watch.

Also, I feel I should have posted this in Chinese for some reason.
