Kelley suspended for a game according to Mike McMahon. Not sure if he's even in your full lineup but he will miss Friday's game. something from the UMass game that went uncalled.

Yeah, he hit a UMass guy from behind into the boards and it went uncalled. Probably should've been 5 and a game so not surprising the league tacked that one on.

Wow, I am surprised. It was a hit from behind that probably should've been called and for some reason the refs missed it. If it had been called, it wouldn't have been anywhere close to meriting a one game suspension on top of the penalty. That is disappointing that they can go back and suspend him for something like that - "our refs screwed up so you have to sit out a full game." That is garbage.

Re: BU 2016-17 Season Thread I: The Kids are Alright

Seems to happen more and more when calls are missed in-game. I understand what you're saying about now missing a full game but not sure how else they could hand out punishment for things they deem worthy of a game misconduct.

Wish I had waited a day! Got row Q in 120; I assume that's pretty close to the top. Row B in 119 is available right now for the same price.

Row Q is the last row, at least in my section. If you want a good cardio workout, take the seats in the second row! The pitch is steep enough that walking up and down those stairs should be enough exercise for the day! :)

You'll have a MUCH better view of the game from your seat than from the second row of 119.

I was formerly a tasty 7-11 beverage. Now I'm a fan of defunct hockey teams.
I've seen your sig for some time, but for whatever reason it caught my interest today. What defunct teams are you a fan of? I'm personally a fan of the Atlanta Flames (best NHL logo in my opinion) and the Hartford Whalers (second best NHL logo IMO). Among college teams I have a soft spot for MIT (never really good, but one of BU's first regular opponents), Marquette, Illinois and Northern Arizona. However, my favorite defunct college team is Gonzaga.

My introduction to hockey was following the Whalers when I was a young kid until age 10 when they left Hartford. I'll disagree with you until blue in the face that the Whaler logo is the greatest logo in the history of mankind. I suppose I should change that sig because one cannot "be" a fan of the Whalers, you "were" a fan of them.

...Switzer was hit from behind right in front of us in the corner midway through the 2nd period looked to be out on his feet but stayed up and got called for tripping about 10 seconds later...you know what I think is funny?..that in the last game and a half he has scored more goals than Fabbro..Krys..McCloud and Diffley have combined for the year.
As a stats person I would like to point out that you are wrong. At the time you posted this Fabbro had 3 goals and Krys had 1 goal for a total of 4, one more than Switzer had at that time. By the way, it's MacLeod, not McCloud.

-Despite the goal Krys is not a top 6 D on this team.

Well opinions are like you know what...everybody has one...do you watch the games or just read the relentless propaganda?..5 points and a -3 doesn't cut it on this team
So, is your opinion like you know what? By the way, they're called defensemen for a reason and its not because they score points.

That seems to be the consensus - a couple others have voiced the same opinion. Looking forward to it! Thanks for all the input, all.

119 is right next to the student section and band, though, FWIW.

Not a problem for me! I like being immersed in the atmosphere. My friend, who's a BC fan, may not be too pleased, however. :p

Not a problem. Agganis is a "steep" arena. Parker insisted on that during the design process so that the fans would be closer to the ice - even if you sit up high! Those seats are fine.

Re: BU 2016-17 Season Thread I: The Kids are Alright

I believe you can be a fan of a defunct team, you just can't see them play anymore. :)

Sean

There is only one defunct hockey team that we can all claim to be a fan of:

The Macon Whoopee

The most clever team name in the history of all sports. I had the distinct pleasure of attending one of their games. Unfortunately, I was not the lucky winner of their keg party giveaway. :D

Apparently we don't have the ability anymore in our society to make errors. This whole "replay" mentality and obsession with making everything perfect is ruining sports. As a former referee in another sport, I can tell you that if they had started "reviewing" every call (not to mention turning a two hour game into a three hour fiasco), I would have quit right then. When people are afraid to be wrong, pretty soon they became so hesitant they are paralyzed. I say, if you missed it during the game, LET IT GO. It's over and done with. Officials are human just like the players. Maybe we should just play the games on a computer. (By the way, this is not "directed" at you, JD. You brought it up so I'm just commenting). :)

The Macon Whoopee

More Hockey in Atlanta would be appreciated. All I have now is the Gwinnett Gladiators, me and the 4 other hockey fans in the department are making at least one trip in the next month.

And get to see Cason Hohmann and Mike Moran from you guys

As much as it pains me to agree with you: :) Nailed it. Last night's NC football game was 4.5 hours long. Insanity.

Wow really...they had 4 in 58 games and he had 3 in 3 games...you clearly proved me wrong stat man

Sean

Do you really want to talk about Krys' defense...should we start with the worst +/- among the D?..the -3 in game one at Vermont?..or the 4 breakaways in game 2 (thanks Oettinger)...if you play every PP you should have more than 5 points....those are facts not opinions...My opinions are based on watching hockey not on reading Twitter or feel good stories about how mom and dad went to BU and he was the best 14 year old in the country...he has very good vision and makes a nice first pass..he is young and could become a good college defenseman ...right now the hype doesn't match the production
