BU 2014-15 season threat III - Jasmine gets to see us 4 more times

Re: BU 2014-15 season threat III - Jasmine gets to see us 4 more times

Well, thank goodness I already got FF tickets through the NCAA.

Just got an email from BU. Evidently 21 straight years of season tickets and FOH for many of those years doesn't give me enough "Loyalty" points to purchase tickets through BU.

Now I am very curious what my point total is an what rank that puts me at. I haven't seen my point total since Agganis was built. I had the tickets from the NCAA as a backup plan, but thought I would have enough to buy through BU. Guess that's why we have backup plans. LOL.

I would like to hear what the cut was

Me too. And if the cut was so high because they sold those 200 balcony tickets to students then I am 100% behind it. If it is very high because the tickets were given to a bunch of administrators that have never gone to a game this season then....

well remember. if you had started paying for premium tickets this year and gave that extra $1500 -- guess what? :D

brownie takes a bunch and shares with admin and donors. a bunch.

interesting that they just sent you an email without details. step one of having a program is that it is open and therefore sharing results should not be something that is held back instead of being shared with the participants. if anything one would then know if they have to up their game---or just quit.

the secrecy is bullchit.

Well, I know that 170 points were not enough for FF tickets. I would also love to know what the cutoff was, however I don't ever expect to find out. The way BU treats season ticket holders and longtime, moderate Friends donors is that we should be grateful for the opportunity to buy tickets and be quiet.

That's horrible. BU's dropping the ball massively if these tickets are going to administrators.

I have yet to hear either way. Surprised emails went out . Ticket office today indicated that notifications would be sent out late this week / early next week.

odd.

they should want to notify as soon as possible so people can go find tickets through alternative sources rather than sit around and wait until early next week (3 days beforehand?). they can always go back to the waitlist if questom decides he only wants 25 tickets for his nieces and nephews instead of the 31 that brownie gives him.

No word yet on student tickets. Hopefully they are handled using some loyalty system (students who went to the most games and such) and not lottery...

I have not spoken with anyone who has gotten them through BU yet, but a few who got shut out. Maybe they are starting emailing out to those who they know won't qualify so they have more time to pursue other options.

When I spoke to a woman in tickets this morning, she told me that my chances looked very good. This pm I got a generic email that I didn't make the cut.

No way of knowing whether they got fewer tickets than expected or if they prefer to deliver bad news impersonally.

"they" being ticket office after brownie got his? every school got 600 (400 lower bowl, 200 upper)

Re: BU 2014-15 season threat III - Jasmine gets to see us 4 more times

Are we a " host" school, and did we get any additionals for that?

nope. hea is the host.

we were hosts in 2004. ironically as host we got a bunch of tickets. the ticket office called me the week before and said they had extras and asked if i wanted some. i took 4 and ended up in the club section behind the goal.

that option won't be available this time around.

Mookie - just out of curiosity, was it hard to get into the FF lottery? I seem to recall signing up for it, but never heard back from the NCAA at all.

No. There are threads on here every year at that time with links and status updates.
It's easier now since we get to pick our own seats. Also I think everyone who wanted seats got them this year.

Re: BU 2014-15 season threat III - Jasmine gets to see us 4 more times

I'm confused why there is so much hostility towards the FF ticket process this time around. Isn't it the same as in DC? Are many people getting rejected now who got tickets through BU in 2009?

With BU getting 600 tickets there are likely only 450-400 tickets after student tickets and families of the team. Assuming everyone requests just a pair of tickets that means only 200-225 requests are fulfilled. Does anyone who is getting rejected think they are one of the 200 biggest boosters in the program?

Is the frustration higher than with DC just because that year face value tickets were easily available on secondary markets and now they clearly are not?

....Does anyone who is getting rejected think they are one of the 200 biggest boosters in the program?

Do you know where you stand?

Does anyone know their position?

We have established that many here have no idea what their points tally.
