Well, first of all, you understand that writers tend to try to be "controversial" and "provocative," right? Also, they probably are looking at it from the perspective that, the reality is BU doesn't have to win. ALL of the other teams essentially have to win two games if they want to move on to the NCAAs. So I can understand a little. Besides, this is a GOOD thing. Any possibility of complacency may be diminished, if even just a little.

I think I just generally disagreed with his statement that UNH is playing well enough where you'd pick them over BU, especially when you look at who they've played. Uconn? MC? Even PC hadn't been playing that well down the stretch. As for BU not needing to win this game, their opponents may feel that way but I sure as s*** hope that's not how BU feels after watching BC take the league championship 3 times since they last won it. Like the great Reese Bobby said, "If you ain't first you're last". I don't think anyone on the team will be excited to tell their kids stories about how they made it to the semi-finals of the Hockey East tournament and then lost in the first round of the NCAAs because they were a low #2 seed, got a bad matchup, and had to play Minnesota.

They also beat BU earlier this year, and would have looked better had BU not had woken up when the third started.

Edit: BU didn't lose at Agganis.

BU won the game at Agganis and lost the game at Lake Whitt.

But that's the point...it's hockey. We all know that the "best" team doesn't always win. It's not basketball where the "sample size" of points is so large that it's difficult for a less-skilled team to win. It's hockey...a team has a hot goalie and a little more jump and it can make a gigantic difference, because each goal has so much more significance. My point was that this is not a bad thing for BU...there have been many times (and I'm not going to list them) where a little bit of "motivation" would have carried them a long way...and I haven't been comfortable with the whole "that's OK, we'll just turn it on in the 3rd period" tendency of this team (last weekend notwithstanding before anyone brings that up). :)

That's some astute analysis from the HE wonks. UNH has played some great hockey of late, too bad the other team limped into the the semis. :rolleyes:

Listen, anything can happen, but if BU plays their game tonight, they ain't gonna get beat.

Going out on a limb here....

Tonight's game vs UNH isn't going to be an easy one, unless BU shows up. When both teams are playing their best it isn't even close, let's be reasonable. If the goals come early its going to be a long night for UNH. BU needs just play their game and not focus on "tomorrow night" take care of business tonight and everything else will take care of itself.

Evan is ****ed, and who wouldn't be? I can see him playing with a chip on his shoulder the size of Everest. Maybe he will play some good, old, Canadian hockey and get this years first Gordie Howe Hat-Trick. (highly unlikely, but what the hell?)

5-2 BU, 41-25 Shots. Eichel 1 Goal 2 Assists, Rodrigues 3 Goals, O'Regan, 1 and 1.

How the hell did E-Rod not make First-Team HE???? Really? Comeon!

Would someone please come over to our thread and lead chickod back over hear? I'm afraid he's lost and can't find his way home. There's been some ranting about parking for the game, but it sure sounds a lot like, "Get off my lawn!!!" :eek:;)

Right on. A closer game than the score indicates with goal 5 an ENG.

90% chance that BU wins a 2 - 3 goal game. 8% chance they blow the 'cats out. 2% chance the 'cats win with Tirone redefining what "standing on his head" means.

Can I get a % chance BU trails after 2 periods? I might be late to the game and I just want to know how I should expect to feel when I get there and look up at the scoreboard.

He doesn't really care what happens at the game, just what the weather's like, if it's an easy commute from Fitchburg, and if he can park and get home on time. :)
