BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

I like the 1st line. Is there any possibility of pairing Hohmann with Eichel? I'd rather not see him buried on the 3rd line. If they can be put together that's a pretty good 1-2 to be rolling out every game.

Baillargeon-O’Regan-Rodrigues
Lane-Eichel-Hohmann
Phelps-Roberto-Piccinich
Moran-Lawrence-Duane
Collier-Ryan-Kelley

I see Greer likely waiting a year to come as he is only a junior at KUA and won't be 18 until after the fall semester of next year which makes him younger than even Eichel. It's hard to see a player accelerating to be maybe a 3rd liner. Although with next year's D having 9 excluding Ryan clearly Quinn has put an emphasis on having a larger roster than recent years so maybe having 16 forwards is important to him.

--28 man roster = competition for ice time (Yippee!)

--Suspect that Quinn's AHL/NHL time resulted in an appreciation for big, skilled centers with good wheels. He's been effusive in his praise for #19 and I'd expect him to stay at his natural postion.

--Two excellent sources say that Greer is accelerating, undoubtedly with DQ's blessing.

--BU is not done with the 2014 class. Besides Waterloo's Tyler Sheehy, a visit is scheduled for Hickey's Spruce Grove teammate, Cameron Hughes. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=62155

I think arguably more impressive than the top end talent Quinn and Co have landed is convincing so many recruits with offers elsewhere to take partial scholarships.

Are you writing off the chances of Donato coming to BU? Or has he just already had his visit and it's more of a waiting game with him? You would know better than basically anyone else here

Donato is a junior at Dexter so would be for 2015. Last I heard, Bu is still in the mix. It may hinge on whether he is admitted to Harvard. Some of the in-the-know Harvard posters sound pessimistic.

And we'd be blessed with more shreiks of JOEY! so that would be another benefit.

Pereira's goal at about 1:30 in this video is one of my favorite BU moments since the championship (not a lot to chose from though). End of the game vs a better team and he hustled in on the forecheck and stole a goal for the win. He may not have been as talented as some of the other guys, but knew how to play the game.

Even if he is admitted into Harvard and chooses to matriculate, there's no guarantee his father will still be the head coach through 2018-19. Thought their program would've done better, esp. after the success the elder Donato had his first 2 years (albeit w/ players from the previous coaching regime).

UPDATE: Heisenberg has him committed to Harvard.

Boing!

I miss hustle.

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

So tonight is basically BU's last chance to avoid going winless in away games this season right? Anyone think they have a chance at NU, Notre Dame, or UNH? Has BU ever gone winless in away games over an entire season? I can't imagine that has happened before.

Re: BU 2013-14 (Part II): Crash before the Phoenix

So, is anyone going to touch Hoky's last post? I know it's usually better to ignore him, but he's hinting at something I've heard alluded to, as well. :(

Yep, ya gotta spill. No Hoky post here. (Someone go check the grassy knoll.)

Oops, sorry, it was Jofa. http://board.uscho.com/showthread.p...-the-Phoenix&p=5869748&viewfull=1#post5869748

re: the possibility of Eichel in maroon & gold.

to be clear, I didn't hear it was actually happening, just that there have been discussions.

As someone who is completely neutral, I think it would make York and Eichel look pretty bad. York just pulled this same stunt a couple months ago with that kid from Notre Dame though so who knows.

Funny, when I read Jofa's "Or in Maroon and Gold" I was adding it to the "no way he ever makes it to Comm Ave", not to the "as a member of an NHL team" part of the original post, so I didn't take it to mean that he could be looking to go to our rival.

I don't even know what to say if that is emerging as a possibility. If there have in fact "been discussions", then that is a very bad sign.
