BSU @ MN: Bright Lights, Big City, Nice Beavers

Re: BSU @ MN: Bright Lights, Big City, Nice Beavers

Jockstock, you are a true poet of the spoken word... cheers.

Here I thought Beaver fans would be smarter than BADger fans. Did you not see the movie and see who won in the end? :p

I've seen stuff like this posted before too and didn't get it. I think they even showed a clip up in St. Cloud too. Did they all miss the end of the movie?

Agreed, the Beavers will put up a fight and get a few licks in but in the end(like in the movie)the Gophers will be victorious.

Re: BSU @ MN: Bright Lights, Big City, Nice Beavers

Great game and win for the Gophers, they pretty much had control from the drop of the puck.

Dig in for the sweep tomorrow night boys.

Re: BSU @ MN: Bright Lights, Big City, Nice Beavers

Good lord. You would think it was the beavs first time playing on olympic sized ice. They could not stop the gopher's passing ability and it looked as if they ****ed themselves in the mariucci atmosphere. Tom better get his guys together because that was not the same BSU team that ive been watching in the last month and a half..
Only 2 shots on goal in the 1st period?? SERIOUSLY???

Re: BSU @ MN: Bright Lights, Big City, Nice Beavers

One team was playing play-off hockey and the other wasn't.

Tomorrow will be more even. If MN plays as complete a game as they did tonight I expect a sweep. If they take a period or a half a period off it will be up for grabs.

Bjugstad needs to help his linemate with the step around the Dman move. Bjugstad's was sick, Rau's not so much.

The strongest endorsement , however, may have come from Bemidji's coach after the game. He made sure to compliment the Gophers at every turn but there's a difference between those words and this:

"They're strong, have great speed...to me [Friday night] they were a national championship caliber team. "

Gopher players probably woke up feeling pretty good. Finally putting in a solid Friday performance helps the confidence, and who doesn't feel good waking up after a night of beaver pounding? However, I am pretty sure their solid play was only half the story. I think the Beavers will wake up tonight and show more effort and make it a tougher game. There were times they were standing around last night, and you don't win 11 of 17 by standing around watching the other team. Hopefully the Gophs can keep up the pressure to overcome the likely increased effort they will see tonight.
