Re: Brown @ RPI: Game 3

Brown scores as we are atrocious when we are down 2 men-it is almost always a gift goal. This is a big hill to climb and we dont seem to have the horses tonight.

Re: Brown @ RPI: Game 3

End of 2 and we are down 2-0. I missed the first period entirely-if it was anything like the second period-we deserve to be down. This is not the effort we saw yesterday. We have 20 minutes to show if we want to continue this season. I dont know if we have enough offense to do it.

Re: Brown @ RPI: Game 3

having seen the boys a few times now this year, and the only thing I would work on is defensive zone play. Penalty killing and playing w/o the puck is a total adventure for this team...

very lazy play tonight, the penalties are indicative of that....

Re: Brown @ RPI: Game 3

This looks like a very tired RPI team. One would think it would be the other way around-Brown on the road for 3 consecutive days and skating only 3 lines but right now we just look like a b urnt out group. I hope SA can fire them up for the next 20 minutes and hope the refs even up the penalty calls. We need a real break to get back into this one.

Re: Brown @ RPI: Game 3

The refs are buying every frigging dive Brown goes for. It's ridiculous. The "slash" drew their attention because the Brown skater bent his knees and leapt forward. Last I checked slashes don't launch you forward. Meanwhile Pirri gets hammered from behind into the boards (complete with neck snapping back against the glass) and no call. Absolutely head-scratching.

He has played the he** out of the 1st two lines and now they are burnt out . Bench management , there was no need to panic half way through that period . This will be a very interesting period !

You can't even start to blame the refs for tonight's lack of effort.

Interested - I'm not sure, they had a good start to the period and then Malchuk's line took a shift off [around the 12 minute mark] and the momentum shifted. I think I would have done the same thing if I was coaching.

The Momentum shifted when we were too tired to get to the open pucks , when your tired physically , you are tired mentally , you then start to reach and use your stick more therefore getting pnalties . That is what is happening !!

Re: Brown @ RPI: Game 3

I don't dispute our lack of effort, but that doesn't change the fact that Brown is flopping all over the ice and they're buying it every time.
