Re: Bring Out Your Dead (Part Whatever v2.0)

I suspect Billy Graham will be here before too long. 92 + in the hospital with pneumonia adds up to real trouble.

Re: Bring Out Your Dead (Part Whatever v2.0)

Wasn't sure anyone eside me remembered him from my early NYC days and reading the Daily News.
Me too. Basement Bertha and the Mets were a summer staple.

FYI Dick Young's daughter was in my 8th grade class.

Wasn't sure anyone beside me remembered him from my early NYC days and reading the Daily News.

His cartoons should be required on any Mets fan citizenship test. He always managed to promote both the lovableness and the essential absurdity of following the team. "A Yankee fan has 60 disappointments a year. A Met fan has 60 thrills." :)

I still read it every day on the way to work. His cartoons were a staple in the sports section for almost 70 years.

Please clarify which Billy Graham you are talking about. :D I wouldn't mind seeing the wrestling one live a few more years.

That one always went by Superstar Billy Graham. That's how you tell them apart. The evangelist probably wouldn't be comfortable calling himself Superstar.:)

I think we can start the watch on Harmon Killebrew, too. He was placed into hospice, as his battle with cancer is coming to an end. :(
