Re: Brexit - Should I stay or should I go??

I would like to announce that I am not putting my name forward to be the new Prime Minister of the UK.

It's amusing to listen to the prospective candidates fall all over themselves to deny they are going to run.

Re: Brexit - Should I stay or should I go??

Brexit Party projected to win the GB Euro Parliament elections. Tories and Labour to take a beating.

Kep would approve of this level of purity:

Alastair Campbell expelled from Labour Party after backing Lib Dems at European elections

Only if we had a parliamentary system. In the American system where everyone who gives a crap about their vote is pigeonholed into two major parties, and Democrats currently represent something like a coalition of Euro-left (Bernouts), center-left (Warren/Harris), and a majority of centrists (Biden/Buttigieg), I'm pretty sure he wouldn't approve.

Figured he'd have purged Manchin (D-WV) by now.

Better a guy who votes with us 40% of the time than a guy who votes with us 0% of the time. Manchin can stay. Just never, ever give him anything and never risk anything for him.

1 out of 100,000,000 is statistically 0.

It's 1 out of 7.

83% of Republicans are white. 59% of Democrats are white.

The US was 83% white in 1965. The Republican party is literally America 50 years ago.

This too shall pass.

Back to Britain, Boris Johnson has been ordered to appear in court to answer for repeatedly lying to voters about the UK sending ‎£350M each week to the EU (you may have seen it on a big red bus).

He's going to be a great PM.

Boris will be Trump, but with better hair.

I'm not sure there are enough dummies in the UK. There are a lot, of course, but the Brits don't seem to have massive numbers of our special brand of tub-thumping religious nuts. I don't think enough people in the UK doubt evolution or the heliocentric theory of the solar system to get them a Dump at Number 10.

It's not up to the people. It's up to the Tories in Parliament. It's the British version of the Electoral College.

The first round of Tory balloting for new Prime Minister took place today. The easy winner was Boris Johnson with 114 votes. Second was Jeremy Hunt at 43, Michael Gove had 37 and Dominic Rabb 27. Andrea Leadsom, Mark Harper and Esther McVey were eliminated.
