Re: Brexit - Should I stay or should I go??

Really? The side that didn't win wants a do-over. Shocked I am, I say shocked.

It sounds like how school boards work when the mill levy increase they want doesn't pass --> bring it to vote again.

I don't understand how the public referendum process in the UK works, but the Remain camp should be well within their rights to try to overturn the vote through legal means next year lets say, or next national election whenever that is. Scotland is going to try another bite at the apple for independence as well, so why not?

The head of the EU said there will be no second referendum, no second chances, what was voted on last week is irrevocable and England can GTFO today. They don't even want to wait until David Cameron's successor invokes Article 50 and begins the process. They want it done now.

"It is not an amicable divorce but then again it was never a passionate love affair."

More than that, it's a signal to other members than in is in and out is out. He had to send a message like this to lessen the chance of the whole thing unraveling.

Was it? England / Wales (figuring Scotland and Northern Ireland will punt the UK) will have control of their own sovereignty. EU laws and court decisions contrary to English (UK) law will no longer apply.

I wonder if it has to do with National psyche? England has not been invaded and conquered since 1066. Many have tried (Spain, France, Germany) and failed. The continent, however, has had countries overrun and regimes deposed with regularity. The continent is used to having someone else run their affairs. England is not.

They'll apply if England wants to trade with the EU.

I'm sure Hillary will see to all of that on her second day in office. :p

No, the people will try to elect Trump, and Obama will just decide to declare and stay in office, basically pulling a Julius Caesar. After all, Rome was in an endless war at the time the Republic fell.
