BouncyBall 2013/2014

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

This. The best current player is not automatically the next Michael Jordan, no matter how much said best player wishes it were so.

So the consensus seems to be you don't hate him for anything he did, but rather for what other people think about him?

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

How did you get that when I clearly said it was about what LeBron thinks?

You didn't clearly say that. You said he wishes he was the next Jordan. Has he said he's better than Jordan? The others said it was because the media and his fans portrayed him to be the next Jordan.

I generally pay very little attention to the WNBA. I just happened to scan the standings the other day, and saw something really amazing. So far this season, Phoenix is 22 - 3, or .880 winning percentage.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

It says they've won 16 in a row. Which is only tied for the second longest in WNBA history. I figured a league that's only about 20 years old wouldn't have such a long record, especially given the shorter season, but women's basketball does tend to not have much parity.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

Phoenix plays the Lynx (20-6) tonight at Target Center. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if 14,000 show up.

Edit: Lynx win 75-67

Guess I was off. Don't actually follow them that closely beyond watching portions of playoff games.

If I hadn't been working tonight I was going to go.
Sucks it wasn't even on TV either.

Same with college. I'd be more inclined to follow women's college basketball if there were different schools in the Final Four each year.

well. I live in Connecticut, and it would be fine with me if they rotated the other three spots every year... ;)

Seriously, though, for me at least, watching the UConn women's team reminds me somehow of watching the '85 Chicago Bears: even the blowouts can be entertaining because they play with such intensity without regard to the score.

Re: BouncyBall 2013/2014

The San Antonio Spurs have hired retiring WNBA star Becky Hammon as an assistant coach. She will be the first-ever assistant in the NBA.
