Boston University Terriers 2026-2027 season…insert clever title here!

On pronouncing Wang, just rhyme it with Dong, as in Long Duck Dong (sorry, just watched Sixteen Candles again on Monday. Side note - If I said that movie couldn't be made today, you would think it was because of how they make a gong sound every time someone says his name. But I would argue the way Anthony Michael Hall keeps trying to force himself on Molly RIngwald throughout the movie - that would be considered assault these days...)

Scarlet - I'm jealous! Haven't been to Munn since Game 3 1990 NCAAs. How sweet that was! Bring us some good luck! Ask if Kip Miller or Jason Muzzati are in the house...

I paid the monthly Big10+ fee. I figured for 4 extra bucks I would find some content to watch, and the reminder is already set on my phone to cancel. I watched some of OSU's upset of Michigan from Saturday night today.

We have a very rough schedule over the next month. If we can split with MSU and Denver and win one of the two against Harvard and QU, I will consider that a pretty darn good result.

The Harvard and QU games are at home, so I'm greedy. Win them both!

So.... It looks like BC might suck. Interesting development. And, once again, NOBODY was there. I'm getting a little concerned about our sport. What's going on?

Back to BU. Yost and Munn are on my bucket list... Some day...

defkit, what happened in 1990? ;)

BU Hockey: Play Like The Other Team is Already Printing FF Tickets

Bomber - were you at the GSU for the Friday night game of that series? I remember going to watch it and seeing Roach Man standing at the back shaking his head after the game was over. My friend who worked in the Sports Marketing department called me the next day and told me he called her from the road. He and some of the other guys - defkit, were you part of that gang or did you go with another group? - were on the road to Munn and wanted her help to get tickets. She contacted Larry Fudge (remember him??), told him the guys were on their way and he arranged for game tickets for them. Ahhhh, memories.

For you youngsters, Roach Man was a student in section 8 (was it even called the Dog Pound then?) and he used to spell out Terriers with his body. Then Ogre took over for a couple of years after that. Man, those were the days. I remember going up to Orono for one of those two-game series when they used to do bus trips for students (I was past my student days but my friend in Sports Marketing planned those!). Anyway, we’re in the hotel after the first game and for the life of me I can’t remember if BU even won, but Ogre was so excited because he got Tony Amonte’s chicken wings.

We should do a thread with just these types of memories. :)

I’m just typing away on my flight……free WiFi but it’s too short of a flight to watch anything.

I was not with Roachman. I was in a group that got on the road (in a minivan) around 1am after Game 2, which I had watched in my apartment, after watching Game 1 at the GSU. It was guys that I kind of knew, but not super well, but they knew I was a die-hard fan and that I had not been able to find a way out there for the whole series. I had walked out of my apartment and was waiting for the elevator when I heard my phone ring (ah, life before cell phones). I debated whether to run back in to answer - so glad I did. We drove 15 hours, arrived in time to get pizza, then we got in line for standing room only tickets (someone had confirmed they would have SRO going on sale). After the amazing comeback win we went to the hotel where everyone was staying to celebrate briefly, before getting back on the road, 15 hours straight back.

We had heard that BU had an allotment of tickets for the Final Four (not "Frozen" yet) and would be arranging buses to Detroit (the very next week, no two week break back then), so we were panicked that by the time we got back to campus everything might be sold out. Side note for the younger folks - while this was the first of 7 FF's in 8 years, BU was very mediocre for several years before the 89-90 season, so this run was a BIG DEAL on campus. Also, they were not a dominant team, I think their final record was 25-17, 3rd place in Hockey East, so the playoff run was even more special. Anyway, so we accosted Larry Fudge at the hotel and he promised us we would be able to be on the bus and have tickets.

You guys all have shared memories. I'm a shade older. CLeon Daskalakis in goal, Shag Shaughnessy, TJ Connolly, John Cullen. Not enough postseason action those years, but good memories pounding the roof in WBA. Good wins against BC.

Enjoying the surprisingly good first now against Sparty! Keep it up.

Love everyone’s stories about the 1990 tournament. A special season for me as it was my first year at BU and following BU hockey. I didn’t even know college hockey was a big thing until arriving on campus! I really lucked out as the Terriers were just beginning that run in the 90’s.

Great job here in the 1st being opportunistic. Big Mike was…well big! Keep it up - this is a big one as everyone has noted.

Anyone have a 7-2 start with a win at #3 Michigan St to start the season?

Great job responding after the 2 goals against (that pass on the PP for the first one was insane!).

I’ll say it again (and hopefully keep saying this every week) - I like this team.
