It has been a little strange seeing them the last few years, as there has been so many few seniors than there were 10,15, 20 years ago. I think 2011 was Joe Periera, Adam Kraus and a manager. And to think what that class once was (Wilson, Shattenkirk, Bonino, C. Cohen, Victor Saponari).

I think losing these games will end the season, but winning them won't ensure an NCAA playoff spot. If they sweep, they'll be in great position, but how many of the 4 games against NU and UVM do you expect BU to win? 2? Maybe 3? Then there are at best 4 wins or at wost 2 more losses to a lower ranked team in the Hockey East tournament. I don't think this team can solidify its tournament bid if they don't move on to the second round of the Hockey East tournament. No matter what happens before the first round is over, I think they can still miss it.

To make the tournament I think they have to at least (in order of importance):
1.Win 2 of 3 vs UML and MC
2.Make it to the second round of the Hockey East tournament (where we'll probably play Maine and lose)
3.Win 3 of 4 vs UVM and NU

BU should collect 8 points from NU and UVM. But, Vinny Sap's revenge tour overrules that. So 6? 5?

UML and Merrimack are probably better than BU at this point. Lucky to get 3? 4?

Best case: 10 more points
Worst case: 5 more points

Either way, UNH or BC kills them at the Garden (if they get that far) or they lose a double OT game at Schneider.

I wanna be wrong and I'll be rooting hard for 'em, but I say the season ends on Friday March 22nd.

you are assuming maine even qualifies for the playoffs :D

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend saw him eating ice cream with Vinny Saponari at 31 Flavors last night . She was unable to ascertain the topic of discussion.

I heard Vinny Saponari is getting an extra year of eligibility...the NCAA is making an exception so he can haunt Jack until the end of his tenure.

Stretch run folks. 4 home games in the next 8 days. In mid-July i'll be praying for this much hockey. Things could turn around quickly in the next week +...

I agree with assessment. Say BU goes off and wins against the bottom of the league (something they've struggled with previously). That will add up to little come tournament time when they do one of their patented no shows and get smoked long before the title game. I'll be pleasantly surprised if something else happens, but right now I see a team that doesn't like their coach and which never knows when another shoe is going to drop.
