Interesting. Median attendance on a Tuesday night after a snowstorm coming off a 3 game winless streak. Whoever took the "over" on this one made out.

If we assume Tuesday before Thanksgiving hockey has a chance of being still viable, I think getting back to the tradition of playing Harvard every year on that day (alternating home and away) would be what makes it work again. I'd like to see that personally. Anyone know why that ended?

Well now, that was a bit better. :)

I thought it was actually pretty good - more than 'a bit better'. Wise had a good game, Zegras played much harder than he has been, and we actually competed for the puck in the defensive zone. We could have had three or four additional goals. We're still thin in the defensive corps, and Fensore went down from a blocked shot in the second period and didn't return. They should feel good about this game and hopefully can build on it Saturday night. I think any team in Hockey East can be had on any given night. And a surprisingly good crowd in spite of the weather and a middish week game.

Page 2 on game day against a conference foe? C’mon people. I was traveling all week and got home at midnight last night. What’s everyone else’s excuse?

That did not suck. It was encouraging to see them not fall apart after falling behind. Tucker was great, tonight. Zegras, man. Very crafty. Would like to see that turn into more goals. He is fun to watch. Too bad they’re off for a month or so. Would like to see this continue.

Are we losing any kids to the WJC this year?

Zegras, for sure. As for tonight’s game, putting Armstrong on the first line was an interesting decision. Anyone there have any comment? Also, good to see DeBoer score his 1st.

Re: Boston University 2019-2020

Armstrong moved up to the 1st line against Harvard and slotted in well. Curry also slots in well on the second line and gives them more of a scoring presence. Better balance across both top lines.

DeBoer on the 4th line is more due to him being hurt for most of the fall semester. Wise being on the 4th is because he's had a terrible fall semester. I have no information on it, but it would not shock me to see him leave. I hope he doesn't as he seems to have a lot of talent and I'd love to see him put it together. Unclear if his history of major injuries has become a hindrance to that.

outside of charlie coyle (who left an absolute chitshow which perhaps should have shuttered the program), who has left and had any success?

Re: Boston University 2019-2020

Was Vinny dressed? Just curious if Sasquatch will need to suit up for the Brown game.

Re: Boston University 2019-2020

Tkachuck, McAvoy, Keller, Greenway, Eichel

Others as well I’m sure?

I think he means who else has left because of unhappiness with results or perhaps the program. That list is very long. The Sam Kurker / Wesley Myron types.

Certainly the list of those that left early because they were ready for the next step is too long to list and has spanned decades.

I hope Wise stays. I think someone posted that he was one of a couple guys added to USHL rosters, but that happens every year for speculative purposes. I think he still has the skill to make it. He looked very good in the first couple games of the year and I thought he was going to have a breakout year.

Re: Boston University 2019-2020

Attendance was up the last two games, with 3,681 at the NU game. Hopefully that will continue next semester.

In the now deleted thread someone posted that UConn's attendance was better than BU's. That was an apt comparison, as both teams have played the same number of home games, 10. UConn's average is still higher than BU's, 3,014 to 2,885, but their median is lower, 2,872 to 3,003 (due to their BC game drawing over 5,100). Also, their overage average trend since joining Hockey East been quite similar to BU's. The Huskies attendance was great their first season, but it went down the next three seasons, before a small uptick last season and another large drop this season. To date BU's average is down 24.8% from last season and UConn's average is down 27.2%. And from their peak attendance season (2014-15 for UConn, 2005-06 for BU) both are down 48.2%.
