Boston University 2018-2019 - Still Alive!

I think almost every BU-CCT tournament game is a trigger for you (although you do have the 1970 ECAC semifinal win)! ;)

Sean

You and Cornell. Guess I keep seeing red.

However, son #2 has a Jack Parker Index of 2, having played for Bill O'Neil at Salem State.

I'll feel a lot better about our upcoming season when we do something pro-active about filling the goalkeeper position with another capable body - either a grad transfer or someone we manage to unearth somewhere else. I didn't get a great feeling from watching Purpura play the few minutes he did, and I don't think Nico Lynch is the answer either.

NY Times article on Chara mentoring young Bruins Ds points out that McAvoy was born 32 days after Chara’s NHL debut with the Islanders in 1997 and that as a 20-year-old rookie, Chara was mentored by another Terrier, Scott Lachance.

Re: Boston University 2018-2019 - Still Alive!

The GWG by Mike Prendergast in the 1 is among a bunch of milestone goals posted on THFB. Most of them had been posted on YouTube by Sean. The previous season, Prendergast beat Maine with a SHG in the final minute at WBA.

Wish someone had highlights of the '77 ECAC tourney when BU scored 23 goals in three games--including the original miracle comeback (3 goals in the final five min.) against Clarkson.

I've been trying to find that game for years, not only for that but the first game was one of the most exciting games I have ever seen. UNH beats Cornell in the 2nd OT on a Bobby Gould slapper from just inside the blue line.

Still no official word on another goaltender for NEXT season???

As I said in an earlier post, the goaltender position remains my major concern for next season. We have no way of knowing who's still (if any) in the grad transfer pool, but all of the ones that were mentioned as being there seem to have gone elsewhere.

Re: Boston University 2018-2019 - Still Alive!

No they're not. They said he wouldn't be the biggest name BU would lose...we'll see how this ends up but would be unfortunate to see him go.

Cheremeta is on the first line in the final game at Dubuque USHL main camp, although interestingly he still has a BU logo and commitment notation in the line charts. A simple oversight, or does he have an agreement to return to BU for 2020-21?

His twitter page still identifies him as Boston University #13.

Up to five Terriers could get their name on the Stanley Cup after tonight. #ProudtoBU

If they don't it will be one BC player instead. A lot of pressure on the BU fans tonight. At least most of us from BU and BC are Bruins fans but BC has a backup plan albeit a somber one.

Two BU connections to the Cup Champion Blues: scout Keith Tkachuk and incoming freshman Jamie Armstrong, whose father Bill is the Blues' assistant GM.

From New England Hockey Journal:
Boston University is set to tab former RPI assistant coach Dan Jewell as the program’s new Director of Hockey Operations, according to multiple sources. Jewell will replace Brittany Miller, who resigned following the conclusion of the Terriers’ season.

Jewell's bio.

I don't see Andy Glass in the photo. Studying?

I was wondering if Trivino is in that group. Too hard for me to pick out many other than the obvious ones like Higgins, Warsofsky, Gilroy. Looks like at least one of the Saponari's is there.

It looks to me like the absentees are Trivino, Gryba, Wilson and Glass.
