I have a very hard time watching this Travis Roy story on ESPN. We all know the story but the whole family doing these interviews is heartbreaking. I hope this show helps assist the foundation even more than his story already has. Preaching to the choir here, but I'll be saying an extra prayer tonight for TR24, those who care for him, and the BU hockey family who has been touched by this story.

Absolutely. I attended one of his presentations a couple of years ago. He has to be one of the most positive people I have ever met. It's almost unbelievable what a fantastic attitude he has. We should all pause for a moment and appreciate how fortunate we are. And I have to say this, especially given the non-stop criticism of ESPN on this board. This was one of the most well-produced pieces I have seen...and in general, the E:60 / 30 for 30 pieces are almost all excellent. If anyone hasn't seen them, they are frequently repeated and it is must-see TV IMO.

Always tough to see the Travis Roy stories. Important though. He's a pretty amazing guy. I was a little annoyed with ESPN though. At one point they were talking about BC and they said something along the lines of "Speaking of BC, next up we'll have a special segment on Travis Roy." I almost threw my remote at the TV. At another point they referred to Sacred Heart as the "Crusaders" (Holy Cross is the Crusaders, Sacred Heart is the Pioneers). If they're going to broadcast college hockey it would be nice if they knew the first thing about what they were talking about...

The Travis Roy story was very well done. It got pretty dusty in the Bomber household.

BU Hockey: Pride

I still regret that I didn't go to the exhibition game that year so I could have seen Travis Roy play hockey. I still remember Scarlet telling me to keep my eyes on #24 as we stood in Walter Brown waiting for the banner unveiling. *sigh*

That's right; he looked like a player that night.

Completely off topic here, but Tuukka Rask, you can't be serious!

Bruins would get smoked in playoffs anyway

Nice first NHL goal for E-Rod.

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

He pulled the same stunt with Finland in the Olympics.

You're going to blame Rask for a team that a) stunk all year at HOME and b) was LEADING the division and completely folded in the last month. Seriously?

Tonight, ERod becomes the 74th Terrier to reach the NHL. Who was first? Bob Gryp from '71 & '72 NC teams.

Not true about Gryp.

The answer is goalie John Aiken, who played one game for the Montreal Canadiens in 1957-58.

So the Quinnipiac goalie, when asked about his gaffe that caused the eventual winning goal in the national championship game, he replies "I'd rather not talk about it." Really?

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 3 - The Postseason

Why didn't O'Connor think of that?

Maybe because he's someone who understands that admitting your mistakes doesn't make you "weak." And, let's be real here...no way Quinnipiac wins that game last night..."gaffe" or no gaffe.

The only way they would have won is if they shut down the CBS line which didn't happen. End of story.

...and would never have happened. But enough of that...I'm not going to disparage them because I give them a lot of credit for getting there. But, sorry, the "two best teams" weren't playing last night.
