Now you know how the North Dakotas and The other elite programs feel when they play BU

That would certainly explain our 3-1-1 record against the Sioux during this decade.

Lay off hoky. He got run out of the locker room shower again by arena security so he's got an axe to grind.

My take:
- always hard to know how much the level of the competition plays into it, but BU certainly looked "back to form". I didn't see Saturday's game, but I loved the pace of Friday's game
- Also great to see some balanced scoring, and in general, more scoring from the forwards.
- Carpenter has shown he belongs. For a kid who missed getting drafted twice, it's great to see him contribute. He is like Matt Lane (full of energy), but seemingly with more offensive upside as a freshman.
- Also good to see Oskar getting a couple points. He looks like he knows how to use his size.
- Oh, and Maguire is playing phenomenal hockey. Just in time for that tournament that nobody cares about...

A few more:
-Diffley is playing the way he did last year. Smart decisions, including several well-timed pinches to keep the puck deep in the Maine end.
-And as Tom Ryan noted on the radio broadcast, Ahti's passing--and his board work, too--has been terrific in recent games. Opposing lines and d-men can't be happy being matched up against--and muscled by--Ahti, Greenway and Lane. With the team's top two goal-scorers, they're the 1A, rather than 2nd line, at this point.
-Believe I counted nine different forwards used as penalty killers this weekend. So the 1 and 1A guys can be fresh after a penalty kill.

Some sad news. Billy Cotter, a forward on the '78 NC team passed away Friday. He was only 56.

UConn got trounced by Sacred Heart tonight. Only bright star for them is Max Letunov who leads them in scoring by a mile. 26GP 13-16 - 29pts {welp}

Was curious as to how A.J. Greer is doing in the Q...Has 0 points in 4 games, is -2 and has 6 PIM.

It is still very early, so the jury should still be out. The team's next game is Friday, the start of 8 games in 15 days. It will be interesting to see how well he does in that stretch.

I took a look at his game-by-game stats and he has been in the starting lineup for all four games. He has not been on the ice for any of his team's goals and in his last game it appears he showed his frustration as he took all three of his penalties, including a roughing in the third and then a slashing at the end of the game. He also served a too many men of the ice penalty in the first period, for what its worth.

Sean
I just looked at Greer's stats after the 8 games in 15 days. He started out well, with a point a game for the first five, but he was held off the scoreboard the last three. Overall he has 1-4-5 in 12 games, along with 14 penalty minutes and a +/- of 0 (http://theqmjhl.ca/players/12339/00). That matches his BU totals in a third fewer games (so far).

I was wondering when there was going to be a first line shake-up as Ryan Cloonan has cooled off big time from his hot start.

On the one hand, "if it ain't broke...."

But I guess the Merrimac game is the time to try something new. It should create a different dynamic, replacing speed with physical presence and strong board play. I like it.

One of the NU posters posted one of Sean Pickett's videos - that one was from the 2005 Beanpot. Saw both Quinn and Bavis behind the bench as assistants. I've been reading through other teams' threads that are lamenting their seasons and how it's time for a coaching change and who would they/could they get as a replacement and I was wondering....Mike Bavis? Where is he now? Still with Springfield?

Also - they're honoring Jim Prior tonight for 30 years of being the PA guy. 30 YEARS!!! Wow.

Thanks for the reminder - please, no more of that guy from last weekend.

mookie is at pinehurst golfing. last hole today he caught up with a couple who asked if he wanted to play in with them. 'sure'.

well low and behold the gentleman gets out of the cart and is wearing that bu flag truckers hat. mookie didn't put that on today but it IS in the car and will be worn either tomorrow or sunday. turns out these wonderful people sent both their kids to bu and the daughter with her husband is a sth (class of 95, they think :p).

The boys took care of business again. 6-1-1 in their last 8. Matt Lane is having a heck of a Senior year.

So because of a skate issue, Maguire doesn't get the shutout?

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 2-move along! nothing to see here! all is w

Checked the box score
So Connor got the start but had a skate problem and left with a 1-0 lead early? Sean came in and mopped up?

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 2-move along! nothing to see here! all is w

No, Maguire got the start, had a skate issue, left the game, LaCouvee came in. While he was in net, BU scored to make it 1-0. Maguire came back into the game a little later on.

Maguire started the game. Had an early skate issue and had to leave. Conor came in for a couple of minutes before Maguire came back. BU scored their first and GWG during the short time when Conor was in there so he gets the W.
