I've been critical of those starts as much as anyone, but at least there's some modicum of logic that could lead to some people being able to make the game. On the contrary, I can't think of a single segment of any fan base that would be more likely to make a game at 6 pm on a Friday as opposed to 7 or 730. They're just ridiculous.

Friday night games should be at 7:30, giving people more time to get there after work and through tough traffic. 7 p.m. is fine for Saturdays - less people working and usually lighter traffic.

I agree, and BU seems to have this one down for all Friday games where they control the start time. The number of people arriving late to the game at Conte on Friday also made for constant obstructions of the ice because rows would have to stand up over and over as more came in. Same thing happened at PC for the 6:00 game there. A terrible decision.

Well, those 6pm starts are on the league as they are dictated by TV. Question - as I shut the BU game off when it was over, did NESN+ show game two of their Friday doubleheader?

And because I have been obsessed with checking on weather over the next two weeks as I will be on the road, I noticed it's supposed to be snowy on Saturday. Last night on weather.com they had a prediction of 8-12". This morning it dropped to 3-5". Regardless, BU plays up in Orono Friday night, then both teams have to drive back to Boston to play Saturday night. Which is dicey when there aren't any weather issues. Wonder if they would consider moving this game to Sunday at any point this week when the weather picture becomes more clear. Also - it's Chris Drury bobblehead night!!

yes they carried the Denver-Western Mich game
Also saw weather but you don't want to go up against Pats games which starts at 3 Sunday

If you add Saturday and Saturday night, weather.com is presently saying 8-12". Weather underground is also saying 8-12".

No they showed a 30 minute episode of "Terrier All Access" or whatever that show is, then another 30 minute episode of some other show (Patriots weekly notebook or something like that) before going to the 2nd game of the Friday doubleheader.... so if they are going to show two 30 minute shows in between games, why not just start the first game at 7:00?

Well, we're still the only team to beat Quinnipiac. :)

Maine has a free decent internet feed so you guys don't have to drive all the way to Orono to watch the derrières lose :)

"Whiteout" the Alfond night. If Maine hopes to get a win it's tonight. They are usually spent in the second game of a back to back. BU at a disadvantage with additional travel for the second game though.

Aooarently the first even Fri/Sat home and home for BU and Maine. Probably good reason for this.

It's bad enough it's a home and home with two teams 4 hours apart. Having it in January makes it even stupider. They're lucky the Jonas Bros. Blizzard of the Century seems to be staying to the south and allowing for the trek back to Boston.

I'll be on a plane for pretty much the duration of this game tonight. Does Southwest have free wifi? I should go check that.

For a long time, people were smart not to add Notre Dame to a league in New England. Then things got stupid and here we are.
BC has to fly out to ND and back prior to the Beanpot, but this BU/Maine home and home on consecutive days is ridiculous.

Oh boo, not free. Will be a game time decision if I spring for the $8. It could happen.

I think I saw on Twitter that Olsson isn't playing. Injury or healthy scratch or am I making that up and he is playing?

Also - tomorrow is Chris Drury bobble head night!!

Olsson is out this weekend with an injury.

Originally both these games were going to be in Maine and Maine would come to BU for two next year. After the schedule was made that idea was nixxed and there was no open weekend to prevent this back and forth busing.

Brian Kelley tweeted:
I continue to see complaints/worries about @TerrierHockey's home-and-home w/ Maine this weekend. Coaches & players have zero issues with it.

Tonight's game is on FCS Atlantic (channel finder)

What the hells the difference ...in the past, 3 game sets saw each team making the long trek to the others rink. I tell ya, you beanpotters are getting soft....;). Too many beans, not enough baklava.

Agree with post below... its a friggin easy peasy 4 hour bus ride.... on a luxury coach bus .c..no problem, in fact. I betcha the players really enjoy it.
