Boston University 17-18 - thread El Segundo

Completely incorrect call on Greenway for embellishment. For those not watching on TV and no replay, he toe picked, fell to the ice and immediately hopped up and continued to play. Even Billy Jaffe said it was a bad call.

Why do they always start slow and have to be behind before they seem to start playing hard?

that was tough break. of course official called it in real time versus benefit of replay. pretty atrocious.

oh well.. your boys just tied it.

2nd period- that was the BU hockey I’ve been waiting for- speed, aggressiveness, and always pushing forward. I’ll take the odd mistake if they can maintain that kind of pressure.

Yes. Why can’t we see that on a more consistent basis??? That’s the question.

I don't think they're playing any harder, I think they've been fine all game. They had a few isolated dumb mistakes, but generally playing better than BC the whole game. I think they just got crisper. Fallen into a flow.

Woll is keeping them in this game now. Can’t be faulted on either goal and shots are 30-14

now that bc goal looks good to me as well.. unless crease violation

It was an awful call on Greenway to give then a power play. Two sissy calls on Greenway but they won't call the obvious boarding minor? This game should be a 4-1 win with any other set of refs.

I would say more like if BU hadn’t slept through the first period it would be over, yes.

I don’t know what the ref was looking at. The linesman was looking straight down at the line to see if the puck came out of the zone (because if he had seen it he is allowed to call an obvious penalty).

Re: Boston University 17-18 - thread El Segundo

In the Denver @ BU game earlier this year, a BU player knocked Denver's net off the moorings. It might have been Amonte or Curry. But he had a Denver player right behind him, kinda riding him, and they blew the whistle and motioned that the faceoff was in the offensive zone. They made the call, put the puck on the faceoff dot, then everybody skated away because they needed to do some work to get the pegs back in the hole. While this was happening, Koharski was leaning against the boards, watching the replay on the jumbotron. As the teams were lining back up in the circle, and the linesman had the puck, Koharski skated over, put his hand over his mouth, whispered in the linesman's ear for a minute, and the linesman blew his whistle and moved the faceoff out of the zone. It could not have been more obvious that Koharski used the jumbotron screen to change the call. I shouldn't need to say this, but that is obviously not allowed and Koharski obviously knew it because he was trying to be secretive about it. This is just one of a long line of issues with Koharski and the Koharski/Miller pairing. With the other ****ty HE refs, it usually all balances out but these two really make the conference look like a ****ing joke.

Is this where we insert the donut comment?

Lol, the refs have been the difference between 4-1 and 3-3 in OT

You must be happy with that call, guess we'll never see it
