Boston University 17-18 - thread El Segundo

Is BC the first team ever to win the hockey east regular season without winning a single out of conference game? Really a bad look for Hockey East.

Has to be. Such a messed up Hockey East season.

First place BC: 0 non-conference wins.
Last place UNH: 5 non-conference wins.

We are in desperate need of a new coaching staff.
It’s an awful product imagine giving up your evening to watch that abomination. And I continue to say dumbest BU team in my memory. Tkachuk needs a brain transplant what a numbskull he is .

Harper out for the season with that illness.

I hope it’s nothing too serious but another reason why this whole season has been a crap show. Highly rated nationally with a top goalie, top freshman recruiting class, 3 veteran top level forwards with JG, PH, BC a veteran back line including 2 upper level dmen in Hickey and Fabbro. Oettinger was below par to putrid for atleast the first half, veteran depth SRs Olsson and Phelps added nothing , PP and PPK laughable for the most part, coaching and hockey smarts lacking. The most boring season in memory, team lacked character heart smarts and sadly skill on most occasions . The OT win over Harvard was the only highlight and the Crimson blow this year. The last 2 weeks of season couldn’t beat UMass or Vermont at home and UConn on the road. Meanwhile BC tuning up well for a good shot at a NCAA berth in a rebuild year

Quinn said it was still related to illness in the press conference. Probably more the recovery aspect of it than anything else.

*sigh*

BU Hockey is so far away from what it is was and what it should be.

I've watched probably 25% of the games this year and felt the same way, but saw that they are 9th in the country on the PP at almost 23% and honestly have no idea how that's possible. Did they go 6 for 6 in a couple of the games I missed?

Some games the PP is effective, generates sustained, and converts a few. Other games it's absolutely inept, as it was tonight.

2 full minutes of a 5 on 3 and 3 additional minutes of 5 on 4.... Nothing. Maddening.

The Freep quoted Quinn saying: "It's nothing too serious." Nothing too serious!!!?? He missed the entire second half of the season.

I hope he's alright. Major bummer for him to have his Sophomore season cut short.

Mono ? One of our players has mono but hopefully he'll be back soon.

Word is it started out as a very, very bad case of the flu. Something else may have materialized but who knows. Whatever it is it impacted him to the point that he's so far from being in athletic shape to play that he won't be in that condition this season.

Funny thing the Epstein Barr virus is nicked named the “kissing disease” ❤️

Watch who you’re kissing guys !

Re: Boston University 17-18 - thread El Segundo

I thought Mono was the kissing disease?

You are both correct. Epstein-Barr is the virus that causes mono (mononucleosis is the "disease" - Epstein-Barr is the cause). As is the case with most viruses, they typically lie "dormant" in your system until something causes them to "manifest" (usually a compromised immune system).
