Boston College Women's Hockey '25-'26: It's The Hope That Kills You

Penn State women's basketball has the same headline - Fired is the headline and then in the article that the contract expired. It's all semantics, but one thing is for sure that when the contract has expired, the school does not owe the coach any more money.

Out of the blue I just got a video of my 13-yr-old grandson and his school band playing the BC fight song at last night's hoops game at Conte, the season's last, alas.
They were awesome. It was awesome.
Gotta celebrate the victories where you can find them! Congrats on having a 13-yr-old grandson and having him do anything that's a source of pride.

You have to be Crowley's husband or immediate relative.
Hey there, long timer, how have you been??

Well, the cool thing about me is everyone here knows my full name -- it's even in my signature! -- and most know who I am and how I came to support the BC program. I don't keep it a secret! I even wrote an article about it once! https://www.bcinterruption.com/bost...s-hockey-frozen-four-minnesota-golden-gophers

So yeah it's quite funny to see someone hiding behind a screen name calling me an immediate relative of the coach when, by golly wouldn't you know it, that person just so happens to be an immediate relative of a former coach! That's some impressive projection!

If her program is not getting the necessary funding, but the men's sports are, then that's a Title IX lawsuit right there. Perhaps we should be looking into BC's finances and someone should contact the Globe.
Well, no, that's not how it works. For example, BC's athletic director recently broke down how revenue sharing is getting divvied up -- 75% football, 15% men's basketball, 5% women's basketball, 5% split among everyone else. Uh oh, better call the Globe with that public information!

I do think that BC's athletics department is probably spreading itself too thin. With WLAX taking a nose dive and men's hockey in the midst of a generational late season collapse, while football, men's basketball, and women's basketball all approach rock bottom... I think the women's hockey team's poor season is as much a symptom of a declining athletic department as anything else.

Anyway your daughter's playing years were a bit before my time but nonetheless I hope she's doing well in her post-college coaching career these days.

Thanks for stopping by!

I've been reading these message boards for double digit years. I'm a former employee of multiple universities and conferences, including at one point Boston College. I have made this account to post once to address this topic and then I'm going to go back to just laughing at the comments on both the men's and women's forums. You do not have to believe me and I won't try to make you believe me but I just want to stat this fact: BC does not support its women's hockey program. The administration does not care and does not support it (the administration also doesn't care that much about its men's program either but there are wealthy program alums to help offset). Has BC women's hockey fallen from where it once was? Yes. Should they be doing better? Absolutely yes. But they do not have the resources and support that reggiedunlap9 thinks or claims they have.
HALLELUIA ! FINALLY SOME REGGIE SUPPORT. THANK YOU

Thank you for finally speaking up

Its obvious we need a new coach and the numbers that I have posted speak for themselves.

As far as @onetimeposter26 (Mr Crowley) post, You have got to be kidding me. BC doesn't support its BCWIH program ? A few facts

  • Crowley is the highest paid coach in Hockey East. Yes she actually makes as much money as NU coach Dave Flint
  • BC assistants are the highest paid assistants in Hockey East. In some cases they make almost 2X what other assistants make in HE
  • BC has the largest recruiting budget in Hockey East.
Do you want me to keep going or are those enough facts to start ?

BTW @Chris Vogel : the BC Women's basketball coach " didn't get fired because her contact wasn't renewed " and BCWIH is in a " significantly better place" than the hoops program ?

Chris, I understand that you currently broadcast BCWIH games and that you have to play nice with the BC athletic office staff in order to keep your job but you gotta be kidding me.

Where would the bc thread be without folks "stopping by"? And the point being made about excuses is frankly a good one. Either bc has money for a recruiting budget or it doesn't.

Not likely it doesn't have funds and more likely it has some funds, so any excuses made about the limited recruiting that the current staff does doesn't hold water.

How are you even debating this? This is a serious, non-rhetorical question. Please answer it.
