Just in case BC doesn't sweep this weekend, despite its four returnees from the bigs:
Most research studies have found that the weighted bat doughnut has a positive mental effect yet negative physical effect. The "kinesthetic illusion" created by the bat doughnut makes players believe they are swinging the standard bat post warm-up with the bat doughnut when the subsequent swings are in fact, slower.[6] This effect influences batters hitting mechanics and timing of swing.

To temper your level of being upset, you should look into the 2004 Frozen Four from the perspective of Dartmouth and St. Lawrence. The BS that BC had to withstand here is more on the order of 2009-2010 Cornell, if that. The international obligations cost Cornell a chance to host a quarterfinal, but didn't keep the Big Red out of the NCAA Championship game. The Big Green and Saints had to deal with BS of a higher magnitude.

The world champs are blissfully indifferent to “kinesthetic illusion.” They use their doughnuts and hit home runs. (That should be encouraging to BC fans.)

For those interested in this sort of thing a couple of decades ago I either saw a program or read an article on the topic of physics and batting. Someone's research had shown that the goal of "aiming" to hit the ball squarely was all wrong. It was shown and the research concluded that ideally a batter should attempt to make contact with the ball a bit lower than "squarely". The thinking (as far as I can recall) was that just before impact the air getting forced out of the way between the bat and the ball creates a vacuum and the ball falls a bit...which would then result in the bat making contact squarely with the ball...or at least more squarely than would otherwise be the case.
Tried it for fun a couple times and remember walking away with the impression that there appears be something to this.

Watching espn3 on Xfinity as Grant suggested. Excellent broadcast (camera work, game graphics, replays, picture quality and decent announcer). Good game on the ice also, BC looked great in skating to a 2-0 lead, but then allowed BU to get back in it with two goals of their own. So 2-2 after one period of play. Nice to see Lindsay Agnew get one!

Eagles have a 3-2 lead over the Terriers after two. Actually they are fortunate to be behind by just one, as they spent what seemed like the majority of the period shorthanded, taking one penalty after another. Very undisciplined. But they are still very much in the game, just need to capitalize on a BC mistake...and stay out of the box.

As for the game -- this feels like the most one-sided game we've played all year, including Holy Cross, so of course it's 3-2.
BC's come a LONG, long way in their broadcast quality. They finally added PP clocks this year and now I think it's pretty close to a perfect production. I've given then a ton of crap over the years but they've really made the effort. Love it.

Looks like about 50 folks have showed up for a rivalry game..."Granted" it's a Tuesday of Thanksgiving week but the place is a mausoleum. BU has turned into a whoopie pie but the vaunted bc defense has allowed the whoopie pie to score 2 goals on 7 shots.
Being serious for a minute...I enjoy the fact that I can stream bc home games for free, as for me they are the second most interesting Maroon and Gold team to follow.
