Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Does "ugh" mean what I think it means??

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Oh and yes, Motherwell's parents are indeed here.

Got one text from Lucy Schoedel's mom, but methinks she's clenching her hands right now:eek:

Hux has no excuse. Think I'll eat his whoopie pie right now!

I'm willing to bet that the Hux distraction involves food in some form.

Not at Conte Forum. Too bad about that whoopie pie though. A tough price to pay;)

:p This is me, smacking my lips!

I thought she was a stand out last week against Clarkson
As did I, and posted such. :)

And I was this close [] to posting last night that Syracuse was the most likely to be thrown around chippity this weekend. ****.

If BC doesn't earn a win by the end of Tuesday night, it's time to panic.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Might as well start, the players are...

Nice PP so far.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

Where are you getting your info? Hux was supposed to be brightening my workday with updates, but evidently the game is too riveting to break away.
(or Ashley Motherwell's parents are in town and he's hanging with them)

Yeah, I couldn't tell ya much about the game. Spent most of it hanging with the Motherwells, and the good Mr. Boyles. (and I left my cell in the truck, so what can I say, enjoy the Whoopie Pie and don't ask if your......looks big in those Reebok shorts)

vBulletin has a feature where you can delete posts that you've authored. Just saying.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey '10: Thunstromian Dominance

is a whoopie pie the same thing as a moon pie?

Bite your tongue there girlie, them's fightin' words. A moon pie is an abomination of a snack not fit to be called such, and in no way, shape, or form close to that most sacrosanct of rink food, the Whoopie Pie. (**** things were probably invented in New York)

I'm willing to bet that the Hux distraction involves food in some form.

Alas, I was pretty frikken hungry, having foregone lunch, and forgetting the abysmal snack choices at Conte (read NONEXISTENT). However, a bright spot on the horizon, though pressed for time to get to UNH I was unable to avail myself of any culinary delights, is Erik's Pizza and Wings, now open at the bottom of Heartbreak Hill. Rest assured I shan't be passing by said bistro on my way to the game on Tuesday night. ;)

So.

A much, much better showing by BC last night. I'm still very high on Boyles, even though she had a couple squeak through her pads that were probably a bit unlucky. I'm not concerned about those; it happens.

Bolden looked a lot better. I don't mean to say she's been struggling, she's just seemed a bit too aggressive and penalty-prone. She does, however, have one of the hardest shots on the team and could be our most skilled recruit this year. She made some better decisions (I was specifically concerned about her being overly aggressive on players with the puck when she's the last line of defense, though I haven't seen a specific example of that since the 'cuse game).

Kurth is awesome and might be the most skilled player BC has ever had at breaking up breakaways while behind the shooter and not drawing a penalty.

Did Thunstrom get faster over the offseason?

Restuccia is having an interesting year. She has been, for lack of a better word, flashy. Nothing on the scoresheet yet, but she's had some pretty impressive dangles in getting to the net.

Walsh is playing some good, strong, smart hockey. She isn't playing like a freshman.

How about Webster? Her staying an extra year will be pretty big. She's playing the best hockey of her career. Great to see her on the scoresheet yesterday.

I couldn't really see too many negatives yesterday, which is saying something as down as I was after we tied Syracuse. We controlled the first, and the third period was one of the best all-around periods (and one of the most exciting periods) I've seen us play in quite some time. The second was more even, but we weren't getting dominated like our worst moments against Syracuse.

I'm pleased, and encouraged. NU has become a hugeeee game. It's all about the conference games from here on. If we can start making an impact, mayyybe we'll start worrying more about wins and losses in the non-conference games.
