It must anguish BU fans to know that the last remaining thing they could lord over BC--most national championships--will vanish.

Yes but some disappointing endings like when we witness MSU in 2007, Wisconsin in 2006 (drove all the way there and back), 2004 when Jimmy Howard stoned BC, 2000 UND beating us, and who can forget 1998 with the Wolverines. BU beating BC in 78' when we had NHL Hall of Famer Joey Mullen. But I'm glad Jerry came back and to put the smile in BC hockey. Ceglaski and Snooks didn't win anything. It was a Beanpot a decade thing, heartache after heartache. Now I'm dating myself.

Actually, I think it makes the contrast in the programs even more acute BECAUSE they're right up the road from us. I thought that this would work in our favor by acting as a catalyst for change, but apparently nobody is paying much attention...there couldn't be a wider gap in the philosophy of the respective programs at this point. BC grooms winners...BU grooms NHLers. BC's philosophy is "team first." BU's philosophy is "show me the pros first." Not really "anguish" as much as frustration...it's not as if our program hasn't been at the top and can't be again. But speaking of "at the top" - well, you get the picture.

I'm glad I didn't have to suffer through that stuff. Only memory I have is going to an early York-era game at Conte vs UNH and the Cats were scoring at a clip so fast they couldn't put them on the scoreboard and announce them quick enough. It was ridiculous.

Of course, it seemed SOOOO TERRIBLE to me, at times, once BC was actually good and was lacking results in the Frozen Four. Consider BC was 0 for 3 in the Frozen Four going into the 2001 season. BC was also 1 for 7 going into the 2008 season (blowing 2004 and 2005 seasons was rough and followed up by the epic choke vs. Michigan State).

You have to admit, that BC has surpassed BU in so many ways. Jerry York is about to win his 4th banner with BC, his 5th overall.

Nobody can beat this Boston College team.

i've often compared BC hockey and fans to the Red Sox and their fans ......long suffering and finally rewarded but also the fact that young sox fans (and young patriots fans for that matter) almost take it for granted their team's success and not knowing what the older set had to endure
 
I got to watch that in person last night, Jerry is a god, he gets great talent
To buy into his system and lesser talent that fits in like a glove. Was awesome to watch. My wife said you can hear the passes, so crisp and right on the tape. It's unbelievable for folks who haven' t seen BC play before. I truly believe all other teams are playing for 2 nd as long as Jerry is around

Have I mentioned how in awe I am of the program York has put together? Best in the nation over the past 15 years, bar nil.

Top 5 overall, no question. If he can coach another 10 years you might have 10 total banners.

Truly, truly remarkable to watch. I don't always like it, but it's undeniable.

Best of Luck tomorrow and barring some kind of miracle you'll get your 5th banner.
