Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Last year there was a Saturday regional final at 9PM EDT, but it was in Fargo.

Exactly. Makes sense out there, not in Worcester, MA. Midwest regional final is on Saturday at 6:00 and the one on the east coast is 9:00? Absolutely horrible on the part of the NCAA.

This is why people in the East are generally not liked. Try to think of this from a different perspective. You live in North Dakota and have to either drive 10 hours or fly to get to work on Monday. You live in Providence and have to drive....gee...45 minutes to get home from Worcester? Does it make sense to have the game out West earlier so that people can leave and get home? Of course, you will say "No," as you get home earlier they do (even after attending a game that starts three hours later). And if you say "Well, they should take Monday off," then I would say that's a pretty arrogant comment (as you are home in your bed by 11:00 and getting up for work after a full night's sleep).

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Chickod, let's go with you have to drive 10 hours or fly home. Are you going to do that after the game Saturday or are you gonna leave sunday morning? You're not catching a flight after a game saturday. So if you're making that trip, i am assuming you're staying overnight.

Can't speak for everyone but i don't have kids. So 9 pm saturday night is fine for me. Barring OT, game ends around 1115-1130. I'm home by 1230. For me, that's doable. For many, it isn't. Especially day before easter.

Hey Eagles fans, I think you'll know this. At this DCU Center in Worcester, can one leave the arena (like after the first game) and then get back in a little later (for the second game)? Thank you in advance!

I get it. One of the problems is that the NCAA has this "thing" about not going "up against" the basketball Final Four. So all of these dates are locked in to the SAME weekends every year. Unfortunately, this year, Easter happens to fall on the weekend of the regionals. It would be nice to move the regionals back a week, but they won't. But, anyway, people in the East should be used to this. Every World Series, NBA and NHL playoff game is after 9:00 p.m. and lasts until Midnight. That might be a good research topic for someone in marketing or media - why it's like this. But I don't see why anybody should be surprised at this point. :)

No. Not unless they've changed their policy.

every place allows this.

you go find the smoking door and they check the back of your hand with a marker. then when you return you show your hand and your ticket and you be in like flynn.

This. The worst kept secret at the Xcel Center in St Paul.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

shoutout to bates for discounting the student tickets for the regional (he didn't). granted, given that bc & pc students are on break will be interesting to see attendance.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Having the regional final at 7:30pm on easter sunday is gonna hurt attendance without a doubt and it stinks but ill suck it up and get home around 1am. Gonna be a long monday but us as fans are prolly used to running around for sports

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Anyone else going to Worcester? I know FiveHole12 is going; I'll be there. I believe Chickod is going too.

I'll be there with my dad. Probably going to Uno's and grab a spot at the bar for NU game. Unless you guys are aware of better options to watch that game.

I know absolutely nothing about Worcester. I would like to see the NU game though. Lady friend and I are both out of work early and we'll be leaving Boston about 1.
