Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Interesting you mention the hotel situation, because I think that is one factor that will play into the bracket. Personally I wouldn't go to Albany at all and would stay home and watch the BC game (or games) to avoid the long drive and the need for a hotel room. I certainly wouldn't drive back and forth to Albany twice in 2 days. Contrast that with Worcester, most people would probably drive to Worcester and go home and then go back the next day if they win. I certainly would and I live 30 mins from Worcester. Have to think a lot of people are on the same page there.

i am and was. Exactly what i did before i moved out here , drove back and forth both days and i lived an hour away from Worcester.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Albany is close enough where there's a good chance i would go and stay over

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

I'll go to Albany in a heart beat with my female companion. Got her hooked on BC hockey. Don't think I can swing Tampa so this would be second best.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

i'm not spending easter sunday in albany

well, i hadn't thought of that part. that makes things interesting. perhaps i would go to Saturday's games and then drive home Sunday morning. don't think this will ever happen because of the way they set up the TV coverage but in years where Easter is in the equation how about all Friday-Saturday regionals.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Now, on to Vermont. I know you still have to play the games and respect your opponent blah blah blah. This is not the BC team from last year. and this UVM team is not like the ND team that came in here a couple years ago. having just swept them in Burlington giving up only 2 goals...there's not a single reason this should even go to a 3rd game. Colin White is back so they're only down a 4th liner in Calnan. That's as good as you can ask for at this point in the season. Time to take care of business.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

ha, i suppose but was that UVM team really all that different than this one? i was really comparing UVM as a 9 seed to NDs 8 seed. last year was a 3 vs. 7 matchup.

Yeah, I kinda think it was. Last year's team won 20 games and, if my memory serves me right, was like the first or second team left out of the NCAA tourney. Anyway, I agree with your analysis, BC should be able to handle this one fairly easily.

Personally, I'm not going to Albany. I'll go to Worcester in a heartbeat though. Let's just have them take care of business and let the chips fall where they may, and hopefully they fall in Worcester.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Calnan dressed as 13th forward tonight. Couturier scratched. At least I think it's a healthy scratch.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

I should add that i hope this is a trial for calnan. And if he feels good, go back to 12 and 6.

Playing with 5 out of necessity i can see. But doing it when you have a healthy body sitting, i don't know about. What if you go down a dman during the game?

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

I sincerely hope McCoshen getting the gate in the last minute doesn't result in him missing tomorrow. I know it was a game misconduct rather than a game disqualification, but that doesn't stop Hockey East from reviewing it and imposing supplemental discipline.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

I have no idea how bad that hit actually was but what a dumb decision by him. 3-0, game over. About a minute to go or whatever. No need for a big hit there. Don't put yourself in a position where the bozos in stripes get to determine your fate.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Flashback...
A year ago, Santiguida starts in net against our Eagles and we light him up for 4 goals before Hoffman takes over. Hoffman allows just one goal the rest of the series and VT advances to the Garden.

Saw Santiguida starting in net last nite and turn to my buddy... 'this is going to be easy tonight'. Sure enough, the first goal was a beauty, but the next two the Eagles get 2 of the softest goals one has ever seen. In comes the backup goalie, a frosh the size of a house. Shuts us down for 34.5 minutes. W_T_F???

C'mon Eagles! Take care of business!
