Finally a place for me to vent about Julia Roberts. Cripes she's awful. Can't stand her. I also hate Sarah Paulson, but I don't know why.

Sarah Paulson can burn, also. Annoying as all hell.

I will give credit to Julia in My Best Friend's Wedding (forced to watch it on a date), she was a'ight. And the FIRST Ocean's, she was passable. Other than that.....

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

My sister used to love to gripe about Julia Roberts, and I always wondered why because it wasn't like her. Turns out, Julia Roberts was the first "it girl" type celebrity who was younger than sis. lol Made me laugh. Eventually I started noticing that she is a terrible actress. :D

IIRC, the general rule was that if Julia had her big/long hair, it was a hit, and if she didn't, it wasn't. Generally true, for box office results. However, no, she's just not a good actress. Just about ruined Michael Collins, and if a movie has Liam AND Rickman in it...that's quite a feat.....

I have nothing to add other than just agreeing.

... other than Admitting that I like America's Sweethearts with her in it, but I watched it in college on a date, so that may have skewed my reaction to it. (Because I also liked Serendipity).

We all have movies like that, as I have admitted in a previous post. It happens, nothing to be ashamed of. ;)

The only thing I know about that movie is that it was directed by (one of) the owner of the Seattle Sounders.

Wanted to watch Black Dynamite again, but my DVD has a crack in it.:mad::mad:

However, due to recent discussion here, took a look, and Goldeneye is streaming. Yay! Guess I'll watch that again, because Famke. ;)

All the Bonds leave Netflix at the end of the month.

I'm sure they'll be on Hulu, or Crackle, or back on Netflix in a few months.

Although I am glad I got the boxed set around Christmas. $140 for 24 films ($5.83/ea) AND a digital copy I can stream is nice.

Very nice. When I was scouting Akira movies, found his 25-movie box set for $300ish, and buying the movies I wanted (which were in the box set) separately came to about the same price. Bonus was some movies that I have enjoyed that I normally wouldn't have sought out.....

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

Julia Roberts was probably my first boyhood celebrity crush, but yeah she's not the best actress.

Mine was Valerie. In fact, my type life cycle was predicted by one show.

Chinatown.

Good acting, good directing, how it won for screenplay I have no idea and I felt no satisfaction when the film was over. I can check this one off my list now.
