Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

Theoretically you could remake anything. It's probably just not a good idea when a performance has eclipsed the movie itself. It would be bad taste to remake The Wizard of Oz. That b-tch is Dorothy, the end.

That's a good way of putting it.

Ralph Breaks The Internet:

You think I wasn't gonna watch this movie??

Tremendous. The Disney Princesses scene....I haven't laughed that f*ing hard since The Bag Scene in Django Unchained. Highly recommend. Standard Disney formula in this type of movie, no surprise and no disappointment in that aspect. You know what you're getting into. And it's worth it.

Stan & Ollie:

A little "Behind The Music" ish, but Reilly and Coogan did capture the nuances of what I consider the greatest comedic duo (and trio, sorry Stooges/Marx Bros) of all time. They had the magic touch in their portrayals. I honestly fist-to-hearted a couple times. Decent movie if you aren't a fan, great movie if you are.

Pro-tip: Dial up "Them Thar Hills" on the youtube for one of their best shorts ever.

Replicas:

A man who works for a biotech company can bring his family back after a deadly crash. BUT, he can only bring back 3 of the 4 members.

Clunker. Big(ger) budget B movie. I had more faith in Keanu than what this movie brought, since he has a good track record in the past few years. Alice Eve (wife) was wooden in her role, and that's being nice. January Jones could have out-acted her, and I'm not kidding. I love the concept, but the plot holes were glaring. I forgive any sci-fi plot holes, since in that genre, ANYthing can be fixed with one line of dialogue (to steal a line from "Thank You For Smoking"). The everyday common sense issues were what I had a problem with.

If you don't have much hope for a movie, this is passable. Otherwise, don't bother.

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

Keanu will take any offer. Sometimes it's good. Often it's real, real bad.

Peeked at a few trusted reviews for ENDGAME.... The Russo brothers did it... Some how, some way, it appears they have pulled this off... We'll see tomorrow when this 10 year journey comes to an end for me

No. Some of the minor superheroes will become the major ones, and other characters not yet brought into the Disney Marvel Cinematic Universe will be introduced to the public.

Some of the big-name supes will die in this movie.

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

Phase 3, per Marvel.

ETA: And it's 10 years. 22 movies is right. :D

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

you guys know what is to come next? a development trail of some sort??

Comic books movies are strictly O&M. You put the pellet in this end and the money pops out that end.

Marvel made one 60-hour movie and charged $250.

Interesting....

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

Phase 1: Establishing the big names for the past 10 years.
Phase 2: Introducing the ancillary superheroes for the Infinity Wars push.
Phase 3: Create the superhero intra-squad turmoil, and bring them together for the big finale.
Phase 4: Start it all over with some of the ancillary guys (and those big names for whom Marvel only just reacquired the movie rights).
