Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

As of 8:30p, AMC's servers seem to be back and working normally... Got one of the last non-1st row seats to the 10:00p IMAX showing at the local AMC... Was really hoping to see this in an AMC Dolby showing, but that wasn't happening till Friday AM and I don't trust the internet to stay spoiler free for 12 hours :p

Added: There is an AMC in downtown Chicago that is legitimately showing ENDGAME every 30 Minutes until 7:30a on Friday morning before taking a break until they start Friday at 10am... Was Star Wars like this? This is nuts....

Some theaters showed TFA around the clock opening weekend. The AMC on Boston Common has a 7AM show each day on opening weekend.

ETA: The AMC at Lincoln Square in NYC is doing 24/7 opening week. Oddly, the 230AM show hasn't sold out yet :p

That's insane... and pretty cool. Is that the theater with the enormous subterranean garage that runs underneath Boylston?

The local Marcus starts showings at 8AM every day of the week, regardless of it being opening weekend or not.

I'm more interested in seeing Shazam at this point than End Game. Chuck Bartowski to the rescue!

No idea. Only time I've been in there was when we went to Boston Common for the anti-Nazi march and I had to use the bathroom.

I am seeing Shazam tomorrow :)

For all the people seeing Endgame, I hope it delivers for you. Will make the movies I see in the meantime much emptier which makes me happy ;)

So am I.

Endgame will deliver just like Star Wars VIII delivered. I have no doubt.

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

If it is as divisive as TLJ was the internet might not survive

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

The more they can play the Joker as low key, the better. Less is more.

That looks very good.

Yeah I was shocked the movie went into development but man oh man does it look like Phillips has made something great. I am not one that likes the idea of Joker having an origin usually but since this isnt tied to any Batman (at least not yet) and is basically an Elseworlds tale I love it. Plus you gotta love Phoenix the guy was made for parts like this!

Scooby,

As I said I hope everyone loves the film. Just because it isnt my thing doesnt mean I want it to fail. (that is incel behavior) I wont lie though, the fallout if it is divisive could be fun to watch from a far. But that said I still would rather everyone gets the finale that has been building up. It would be a real shame if it fell short.

"You get to play the Joker, and you get to play the Joker, YOU ALLLLL GET TO PLAYYYY THE JOKER!!!"

Now that Batman is a Hollywood cash cow again, he and his merry band will never get a break.

I hear this movie will be an intense character study like taxi driver.
Makes sense given Scorsese produced it.

This. It's Norman Bates in a comic book world, though, which kind of worries me a little. That being said, this could be very, very good. And Kep is right: with the Joker, less is more.

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

If someone wants to give me $40 I would go...otherwise nothing ;)

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

Ironically, this was the first movie where I told myself that I absolutely had to see it in a "Premium" format. It was a coin-flip between IMAX and Dolby Cinema. IMAX had a seat at a 10p show where Dolby was only 1st row until 4pm on Friday, so IMAX won... That got me to splurge on a $16 ticket... Normally I make use of the $5 matinee/Tuesday options **shrug**
