Re: Big Ten Hockey Conference Pt II - The Exodus

Yesterday INCH Tweeted (1:06 PM ET) that the BTH(C) would have 2 three team divisions:
3M's: Minnesota, Michigan, Michigan State
POW: Penn State, the Ohio State, Wisconsin

So I would assume that for scheduling would consist of a Home and Away series with your in division rivals and one series (home or away) with each team of the other division? That equates to 14 games out of a 36 game season, leaving 22 non-conference games or would they play more conference games thant that?

Believe what? That Big Ten hockey will happen? or that they would only play 14 conference games? For the health of College Hockey and the maintaining of exhisting rivals I certainly hope so other wise you have the REDONKULOUSNESS of the CHA where teams get to know eachothers tendancies and it a crap shoot on any given night....

the part where the bthc would be split into divisions and have dumber names than Legends and Leaders like football.

Well when there is a BTHC I would hope that they don't split it into divisions... but I wouldn't put it past Maturi and Alvarez.

You wouldn't put it past Maturi and Alvarez you say? We have to deal with Gene Smith here. Overpaid (one million plus a year) and overqualified (overqualified in his own mind.) He could care less about anything other than revenue and screw the traditions. The man is a classic example of the one to screw up a wet dream.

Re: Big Ten Hockey Conference Pt II - The Exodus

Will the Big Ten hockey conference have it's own logo or will it use that great new logo they just designed?

Actually, it'll be the Stick and Puck divisions. :D

Re: Big Ten Hockey Conference Pt II - The Exodus

well might it be possible that two divisions would allow them to get two ncaa invites?
I heard that they were going to have 6 1-team divisions, with each division champion automatically advancing to the NCAA tournament.
:D

Resistance is futile!! :D ;)

Nothing like jumping into the deep end of the pool!

WCHA commissioner Bruce McLeod said he has heard from Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany and representatives from Wisconsin and Penn State that the Big Ten will push forward with a plan to sponsor hockey beginning with the 2013–14 season.

The addition of another sport under the Big Ten umbrella has to be approved by the presidents of the member schools.

An announcement of the conference’s intention to go down that path could come as early as Monday, sources said.

Re: Big Ten Hockey Conference Pt II - The Exodus

They might as well as hold their press conference Monday. It's not like the Big 10 hockey teams gotta prepare for the NCAA's or anything.
